The extension is made of solid oak finished wood and mounts to your already existing countertop to give you a little extra space to cut up brocolli, kiwi fruit, or whatever strange growing things you found in the local farmers market. 

 

This counter top comes with all the hardware you need to mount it, including a piano hinge already bolted on to the extension. This extension opens up easily and is secured by a metal drop leaf table brace--and it folds down out of the way when it is not in use.
