Blue Grosbeak Makes His Debut
The Blue Grosbeak appears to be more cautious than his cousin the Rose-breasted Grosbeak. He doesn’t come to our feeder nearly as often and is more easily scared away. But we did finally get some photos. Here he is on the ground behind our RV.
Without being hidden behind tinted RV windows, we would never have been able to get these next pictures. He finally came to the feeder and we were ready…
As a side note, you pronounce this birds name like "gross" because his bill is so large. Notice that his top bill is black and the bottom is white.

Wow, what a beauty! I've seen the Rose-breasted, but never the Blue. Rose
