The Grand Codroy Wildlife Taxidermy Park Is One Of A Kind.

The picturesque community of Grand Codroy is less than an hour from Port aux Basque ferry crossing. The Grand Codroy RV and Tent Camping Park (709-955-2520) is a perfect stop to and/or from the ferry. The sites at this park were so spacious and each was set among beautiful landscaping dotted with trees overlooking the peaceful Grand Codroy River and the vast surrounding spectacular valley.
Park owner, Alice Keeping, encouraged us to drive the scenic picturesque highway 406/407 Loop and to be sure we didn’t miss the one-of-a-kind exceptional Gra

In July 2000 Rod Fudge opened his outstanding true-to-life display of taxidermy animals to the public. Over the years he had accumulated over 300 birds and animals mounted in creative settings – all displays were as a result of natural death – none as a result of hunting. We are planning to make this trip up 132 from Quebec City. Your comments were helpfel in planning what to do in Perce. Are there other things along Highway 132 that we shouldn't miss? We have Reford gardens, the windmill interpetive center and the house built with dovetailed joints.

Maybe I'm old fashioned, but wouldn't it be nicer to see these magnificent animals alive? Were they killed by a "well meaning hunter", were they roadkill, or did a lucky taxidermist just happen upon them. Get real folks, let's stop killing God's creation!

All the animals in this wonderful museum were killed by natural means. NONE of them were hunted. That is what makes this such a speial place.
Thanks for sharing. Peggi and John

Reference highway 132. My comments may be too late. You have some great highlights featured. It has been a few years since we made this trip so I have no additional suggestions.
One point you should know is we turned at Gros Morne onto highway 198. We were surprised to discover this route had several extremely high hills with a lot of tight turns. So it was difficult to get a run at any of them. Enjoy your trip it is an awesome route. Travel safe Peggi and JOhn
