Attention Military RVers - Army Provides Famcamp Website
The Army has a very nice website that will show you a map of the United States. The map is green (would you expect anything else from the Army) and you just click on the state you are interested in. This brings up a close-up of the state and you are then able to retrieve information on the Army campsites available in that state. A very nice site and worth your while. This is a very old website and much of the information is outdated or just not kept up to date. The newer privately maintained website: www.militarycampgrounds.us is far superior.

Cool - but if you care to contact the webmaster, tell them how to spell Nevada :-)

Yes, this is an old website, but is is functional and does provide a lot of information. And yes, www.militarycampgrounds.us is far superior. My volunteer job here is to put up as much information about military campgrounds as I can get to in my spare time. So, if you all have stuff that would benefit the active duty or retired military community, please feel free to email me a link. jimtwamley@gmail.com Thanks for your readership. Jim

Hi Jim,
This is Neal Bicknese, If you remember I was the Campground Host at Ellsworth AFB and want to let you know what happend there, after I told you about the contractor's moving in it must have got to the Co as it never did happen and the MWR manager came around hanging his head, any way another thing you may warn people about is that in July he came around and told us we had to sign a Contract and they were going to give us a 1099 for $500.00 a month for our site, so it't going to cost us 400+ to volunteer, and we worked our tails off as we had to clean bathrooms and landry every other day and we were required to be on site, So we pulled the plug on the 13th of Aug . Let every one know so they don't fall into that trap We checked with a lot of other bases and they never heard of such of a thing.
By the way we stayed at Barksdale La. on the way down here to South texas and boy have they upgraded that place, Nice
Thanks Neal Bicknese pnbick@yahoo.com 307-259-0939
