Merci Me! It's a Chinese RV!

This is an international RVing first: An RV sold in America that's manufactured in China. In a retro-cum-modern effect, the iCamp Elite is a teardrop 15 footer with an interior that looks like something that came out of a modernist interior decorator school. Keeping up with the Gen-Xers, there's even an iPod connection when you tire of the flat-screen TV.

United Recreational Vehicles LLC is the representative for this new little critter which retails at around $17,000. Check out the iCamp website for more details and a big gallery of pictures.

  • I made a COMMITT about the Chinese RV a couple of days ago. Since I was not in favor of it, you hqve appearntly decided not to publish it. Being a retires U.S. Auto worker, I can't be in favor of any foreign vehicle. But,,, I thought I had the right to exzpress my opinions.

  • I saw the ICamp at an RV show recently and fell in love with it. It is so sleek and "hapy" looking. It also appears to be extremely well made. I always prefer to buy American but I'm tired of the same old boxy tin-can looks to our RV's with the same old cheap wood looking interiors. This one had a high gloss, fun color interior and was very appealing. Lots of storage cupboards too for it's small size. I'm thinking of getting one.

  • We bought one. You are right the RV are cheap and made with particle board. Looking forward to receiving it in about 2 weeks. It was not a matter of China over USA, it was a matter of the USA not making what we wanted.
