Concept Accordion RV

Wow, take a look at this concept vehicle (not yet built). I read this on the Safari Trek blog today, so I cannot attest to its accuracy, but you have to admit it is an interesting idea. A blogger named Gordo says, “The accordion section between the two isn’t any different then the twin buses used in San Francisco and these bad boys make some mighty (ugly) tight turns on the cities streets on a daily basis.” Dan from Cowboycadillac said they had a customer order this vehicle to be built for him but backed out of the deal. The concept uses a Safari Trek as the tow vehicle pulling a 5th wheel.

  • You couldn't get me to buy one. I drove city bus for over 20 years and at one time we had many buses that bent in the middle. Shorter turns yes. But we had to limit our highway speeds at NO more than 55mph due to the bus swaying in the rear. And add in a decent to strong cross wind and at times you were holding alot harder than one would like. Out of all those years, and all the different buses we had in our fleet this type was the one all of us hated to drive. Add in a slipply surface and the fun began. Yes I know they use them over sea for years. But they're used mostly for inner city use, not at high speeds. Sorry I'll pass on this sales pitch!!!

  • Greener says!
Why don't you get it? We want fuel efficient and affordable designs in a multi-fuel world. Something we can use regularly and not just to park it for increased fuel costs. BIGGER is not better.
