Monument Colorado Takes a Shot at "Camp Walmart"

RVs unsightly? Herd them altogether like chickens in a pen? Seems that's what lawmakers in the little burg of Monument, Colorado have in mind. In a proposed ordinance to be voted on next month, local councilmembers have taken to mind to continue to allow RVers to overnight at the local Wal-Mart, but they want them relegated to only one area of the lot.

One council member decried RVs as being 'unattractive' and that RVers should overnight in campgrounds. Cooler heads prevailed, (read "money talks") when it was thought that discouraging RVers might lead to less money spent in the great metropolis of Monument. Read the full story for yourself.

  • All this "big brother grovenment" is a big pain the the !!!!!!. I don't wear a seat belt--mainly because "bb"says I have to. I have had two accidents and was not wearing a seat belt, altho I told the cops I was. I would start smoking again if the price wasn't so high and my husband didn't have lung problems. To say I am a nonconformist is the understatement of the decade. Those lawmakers should look as good as most of the rvs, but they aren't relagated to putting a bag over their heads when they enter WalMart. and they don't have to use delivery service when they go into a eatery. Leave well enough alone. Once the lawmakers get their foot in the door it won't be long befor you have an elephant and a jackass setting in your living room. Get smart America and take your freedoms back, but do it peacefully. It can be done if we use our brains(if we haven't lost those to "bb") and our majority power. It is the minority that rules America. Let's make ourselves known and heard.

  • Whenever the little goverment people start too flex their muscles I say stay clear of the town. I do not stay at wal-mart but I reserve the right to stay if need be such as weather or some
    difficulty that may come up......

As for ugly rv rigs some of them cost more than what the town goverments little folks live in. Must be jealousy and that makes it a form of flattery. Thank you
