Don't try driving this RV through tight corners

Wow! We don't think this would be a good RV for driving in city traffic, but maybe it was okay for the jungle, which is apparently where it was designed to travel. Notice the two observation chairs up top -- you'd feel like a king and queen up there, for sure. Thanks to Dave Williams for alerting us to this old advertisement. Those of you in the Los Angeles area can listen to Dave every weekday morning on KNX, 1070 Newsradio, where he is the host of the Southern California's Morning News.

What the artist conception of the real unit doesn't show you, is that its a 5th wheel type of connection at the rear of the tow unit. NOT a one piece unit. So its as driver/city friendly as ours are today.

One of two Jungle Yacht, used in Gatti's African exedition. Gatti was an Italian author who spent much of his time in central Africa. These yachts appear to be a sort of semi-trailers. In camp, they were joined to form a five-room apartment for Gatti and his wife. The trailers were
a 40’ stainless steel units with living room, observation/dining car with library, desk, and bar, two perfectly appointed bedrooms and an all-electric kitchen. Units had indirect lighting, telephone and two-way radio. The trailers were built by Schult Trailers.
