FROM CHUCK WOODBURY
editor, http://www.RVtraveler.com

Dear Reader,

Welcome to the 17th issue of the RV Traveler Newsletter, brought to
you by the websites and sponsors above. And a special welcome to the
1500 new subscribers since our last issue two weeks ago.

NEW GENERATION OF "SNOWBIRDS" DIFFERENT THAN PAST
The website RVbusiness.com reports about how Baby Boomers are changing
the travel behavior of full-time RVers in sunbelt areas.
The manager of the
Mesa Spirit RV Park in Mesa, Ariz., Jim Beach, told the Mesa Tribune that
these younger and more active RVers "want to do more than sit around with
other RVers, chit-chat under the sun and wait for the early-bird special at
the Hometown Buffet." These leading edge boomers, he said, are more inclined
to see a major league baseball game or partake of a local cultural event.

The number of "traditional snowbird" visitors at Mesa Sprit was down two percent
during the just concluded Arizona peak tourist season, according to Beach, who
defines traditional snowbirds as those who visit RV resorts every winter and stay
five or six months. On the other hand, the number of "traveling RVers," which
Beach defines as those who visit an RV resort for a week or two while touring a
region such as the Southwest, was up nearly 10 percent.

Beach believes that Mesa's 25 RV resorts will need to change their marketing
strategies in order keep RVers coming back. "Our brochure doesn’t say we have
bridge tournaments any more," he told the Tribune.

TIP ABOUT RV ELECTRICAL CORDS
From "Motorhomes Made Easy" (http://www.NewRVer.com/easy.html):
"A 14-gauge extension cord should be no longer than 25 feet. A 12-gauge
extension cord should be no longer than 40 feet. Do not use any extension
cord smaller than 14-gauge (the higher the 'gauge' the smaller the wire."

at a job where you can travel from place to place in your RV combines
the best of both worlds: travel and making money. You must factor in
your travel expenses to judge your true income and remember that for
most commission sales positions, it will take you a few years to build
