FROM CHUCK WOODBURY
editor, http://www.RVtraveler.com

Dear Reader,

Welcome to the 19th issue of the RV Traveler Newsletter, brought to
you by the websites and sponsors above. And a special welcome to the
2,400 new subscribers since our last issue two weeks ago.

ANOTHER GOOD RV EMAIL NEWSLETTER
There aren't many email newsletters aimed at RVers and few of those
are worth subscribing to. One really good one, however, is RVers Corner,
issued monthly by RV technician Les Doll, author of the best-selling
ebook How to Inspect And Evaluate A Used RV. RVers Corner typically
includes a couple of good feature articles, plus news and advice about RVs
and RVing. If you enjoy RV Traveler, then you will enjoy RVers Corner.
An easy sign up form is at http://www.rverscorner.com .

SLOWPOKE RVers
When non-RVers bad-mouth those of us who travel by recreational
vehicle, often the reason is because they have been stuck too many times
behind slow-moving motorhomes. Salt Lake Tribune reporter Robert Kirby
wrote an article recently of his frustrations at being blocked behind such
RV slowpokes. "It drives me insane to slow down to a crawl behind someone
who just wants to take his bathroom camping," he wrote. . . (You wonder) why
there isn't a commercial version of the AIM-9 Sidewinder missile." Although
Kirby's article was written tongue-in-cheek, it does serve to remind us that
not everybody leads the leisurely life of an RVer, and it's always a good idea
to pull over when traffic behind starts to stack up. Read Kirby's article at
http://www.sltrib.com/06042002/utah/742657.htm .

LEARN ABOUT RVing FIRST HAND FROM EXPERTS
Each year, the University of Idaho Enrichment Program sponsors a
"Life on Wheels" RV Conference in Moscow, Idaho. Started in 1995, the
week-long conference has expanded to include similar programs at Harrisburg,
Penn., and Des Moines, Iowa. Students select from more than 100 college-style
courses designed to make life on the road more enjoyable, trouble-free, and secure.
All classes are taught by RV experts -- a virtual "Who's Who" of RVing. This year's
conference dates are: Idaho: July 14-19; Pennsylvania: Sept. 8-11;
and Iowa: Sept. 27-30. For more information email Peggy Waterman
at the University of Idaho at peggyw@uidaho.edu or visit

WEIGHING YOUR RV
For safety, it is prudent to know the maximum weight of your RV. Rigs will
last longer and handle better when they don't exceed their weight limitations
because overloading adversely affects the entire suspension system, drivetrain
and tires. Read more about how to determine how much weight your RV can handle
and how to weigh it.

HOME VIDEOS HELP NEW RV OWNERS LEARN HOW TO USE THEIR RIGS
RV Education 101 presents two videos on how to operate everything
on a motorhome or trailer/fifth wheel. Each VHS video is 75-minutes
long and very useful to anyone new to RVing. Read more or order at

DRIVING A WIDE-BODY MOTORHOME? ARE YOU A LAWBREAKER?
At this moment, thousands of RVers are driving motorhomes that exceed
the legal width in the states where they're driving. Wide-body motorhomes,
although wildly popular these days, are legally banned from many of America's
roads. Learn more about driving wide-body RVs and where they are and
ARE NOT welcome at http://www.two-lane.com/widebody.html .

trip on the Alaska Highway and then in Alaska itself (with a return trip via
the Inland Passage by ferry). Their other videos, "Western Canada By RV"
and "Eastern Canada by RV" are equally entertaining. Read more about

EXTENDED RV WARRANTIES. GET AN ONLINE QUOTE
Buying an RV? Protect that investment with extended warranty coverage
from Web Direct Warranty. Fast online quotes; coverage for new and used

at great prices. http://www.webdirectwarranty.com/connect2wdw.asp
-----------------------------------------------------------------
SAVE MONEY ON RV INSURANCE WHEN YOUR RV ISN'T BEING USED
If your motorhome, tow vehicle or truck camper is stored on private property
for long periods of time, you may be able to save money by canceling the liability,
collision, medical and uninsured portions of the policy until you head back on the
road (provided your insurance carrier allows this practice). But keep the
comprehensive coverage active. If you allow this coverage to lapse and your rig
is financed, your lending institution will likely send you a nasty note and then
tack on its own expensive coverage to your monthly payment.
