BUG PROOFING THE FRONT OF YOUR RV
From the book 10 Minute Tech.
"My wife and I are full-timers in a fifth-wheel trailer. We love the rig,
but its expansive frontal area collects bugs at an unbelievable rate. Until
recently, one of our setup rituals included washing off the insects after
each day on the road. Now, thanks to a bright idea that recently popped
into our heads, we are finally free of this chore. Using a spray bottle, we
apply a light coat of baby oil to the front of our RV. This we wipe with a
clean cloth to assure complete coverage, taking care to avoid getting the
view-obscuring oil on the front window. After a few days of travel and bug
building, a quick rinse with a hose is all it takes to remove the grime.
Of course, the washing process also removes most of the baby oil. Though
this requires reapplication, a couple of minutes for this purpose is a
relative snap compared to the old way. (Use caution around striping that is
frayed or peeling, as lotion can dissolve any adhesive exposed to the baby oil.)"
