FROM CHUCK WOODBURY
editor, http://www.RVtraveler.com

Welcome to the 34th edition of the RV Traveler Newsletter, brought
to you absolutely free by the websites and sponsors above and a
guy who is presently out there on the road with his motorhome,
probably along the Oregon Coast about now, enjoying fresh seafood,
exploring a beach, or just hanging out at a cafe sipping clam chowder and
reading the local newspaper. Ah, the RV life!

Last issue I reported that RVs were not being permitted to cross
Hoover Dam. Well, I was wrong. RVs and other passenger vehicles
are, in fact, being allowed to cross. But RVs, as several readers
pointed out, are being stopped and very thoroughly searched. The
reason: security concerns. Learn more about visiting Hoover Dam

ROAD DAMAGE TO ALASKA HIGHWAYS
The major earthquake in Alaska wasn't reported too widely in the lower
48 states because it didn't cause huge damage or kill anyone. But take a
look what it did to some of the roads in the state. You won't want to
drive these anytime soon:

RV SKEPTICS TAKE FIRST TRIP: FALL IN LOVE WITH THE LIFESTYLE
They write: "The Winnebago becomes, by turns, our cottage by the sea
and our cabin in the woods, and ultimately it proves so alluring that we're
planning to buy one. At first, though, our jaunt feels mostly hapless,
as if Lucy and Desi's Long, Long Trailer meets Chevy Chase's Vacation
movies." Read more about Arline and Sam Bleecker's first RV adventure
and how their eyes opened to the appeal of RV travel.
