Porsche Engineering helps redesign custom motorcoach

November 5, 2006 -- Newell Coach Corporation, a manufacturer of custom luxury motorcoaches, recently collaborated with the Huntington Beach, Calif., design studios of Porsche Engineering to update the exterior design of Newell's luxury motorcoaches. Porsche Engineering is a division of the German sports car company.

Porsche designers worked with Newell engineers to refine and finalize the design, which is distinctly European. It includes complex, molded-chrome trim that marries seamlessly with the Newell body. A refined, jewel-like finish of the detailing was made possible because of the state-of-the-art processes that have recently been developed for plating molded parts.

The new design also features high-performance, Xenon gas-discharge headlights that enhance night vision; and a large, one-piece windshield that gives the driver exceptional visibility and occupants a panoramic, picture-window view.

"This was our first major redesign in over 15 years," said Karl Blade, owner of Newell Coach. "We knew that Porsche Engineering would give our coach the sophisticated look we wanted. It's clean, refined and contemporary, not what you'd normally find in a North American motorcoach."
