Problem with 2005 Allegro Bay Motorhome |
|
|
I received this email from an RVtravel.com reader and thought I should pass it along . It sounds like a problem that other owners of 2005 Allegro Bay motorhomes should address (and maybe those with coaches made in other years).
The email:
Chuck,
I just wanted to let you know that we have a 2005 Allegro Bay. In Vermont recently, we needed propane. The man who filled our tank said it felt loose. We found the long metal pieces that the tank is attached to were tearing about six inches from the weld! The man wired the back one that was torn, but by the time we traveled 50 miles the front tore, too!
Our tank would have fallen out the hole onto the ground if that man had not caught the problem! We had to have new pieces put in and welded and the tank re-installed! We feel the metal the manufacturer used was inferior to the weight that a filled tank could hold. The compartment that holds the tank has no bottom. A grate type bottom would keep a tank from falling out onto the highway if a tank ever became detached. We will contact Tifffin when we get home. Anyone who owns this motorhome -- maybe any motorhome -- should be careful to check any welds on their tanks and make sure they are holding! _________________ Get the latest RV news headlines on Twitter.

We Own a Tiffin Product |
|
|
| We are owners of a 2007 Tiffin Phaeton. We have met Bob Tiffin and his Western rep, Phil Hollingsworth. We can say without any hesitation that Tiffin stands behind their products. Call either one direct and they will listen and help. |

Greetings,
We also have an 05' Allegro Bay. I will have to take a close took up into the back of the compartment.
That being said, I have found Tiffin to be a very high quality product with outstanding customer service! I have had the pleasure of speaking with Mr. Bob Tiffin, and found it to be a great pleasure. This company caters to their customers. I am sure your problem will be addressed and corrected without hesitation. A REAL STAND-UP COMPANY AND MAN!
If you had to have this kind of problem, this is the company that will remedy it without question. _________________ Dogs welcome....
