Do you know of a great tourist attraction -- a "not to be missed" place somewhere in the U.S. or Canada? It can be a big deal or just a great little spot -- an old time amusement park, a small town zoo, a cafe with great burgers, a funny statue ("World's Largest Egg" -- that sort of thing). We'll pass along some of your tips in the RVtravel.com weekly newsletter and maybe even expand on some of your suggestions in our blog RV Short Stops ( http://www.rvtravel.com/blog/rvshortstops/index.shtml )

There are a couple of places in Utah I have really enjoyed, but then I am and always have been fascinated with Native American writings. Those places are Fremont Indian Ruins State Park along I-70, 9 Mile Canyon outside Price, and San Rafael Swell outside Huntington. I have also always loved Yellowstone NP, but being a pational park, you may not have wanted those types of places.
There is a unique graveyard in Pioche, NV.

Oatman, Arizona, although I don't know if you can get there in an RV.

I went there in 1989, in a car. I stayed at Kingman, and took my car up to Oatman. Oatman, AZ is part of the old "Route 66."

Gold Butte Road drive to Whitney Pockets during desert spring bloom (about mid April). Take NV-170 south from Mesquite, NV, past Bunkerville to Gold Butte Road. The road runs west along the river and then runs southeast. It is paved for 25 miles to the pockets which is also a favorite place for ATVers to start their exploring the west end of the Virgin Mountains.

I can't get it to work now either. Must be having a server problem.

Try this one. It will give you an idea of what you will see.

WOW - No one above mentioned Devil's Tower National Monument in Wyoming. Remember the movie "Close Encounters?" It was Devil's Tower that drew all the people to see the spaceships coming. This is one of the best places to visit. You can walk around the base of the tower (about 1.3 miles) and watch mountain climbers scale the side of the tower. Of all the national monuments, Devil's Tower is in the top 5 for us. NOTE: If you want to go to a place to "see something" while at the same time have some peace and quiet, this is it. The park road takes you right to the base of the tower. Interesting side note - we spent 4 days there (and loved it) and for two of them, went to the base park. Both days we saw folks sitting on the benches at the start of the walking trail with oxygen tanks strapped to them while their counterparts took the walk. What does that tell you?

In the recent (#359) RV Travel newsletter, a mention was made about the smallest post office. The post office that I use is about the same size but not in a separate building. It is located in the Heisson store located in Heisson, Washington which is about 20 miles north east of Vancouver, Washington, or about 5 miles north of Battle Ground, Washington. The store is an old-time country market where you can pick up nearly anything, even a haircut! It is located on the scenic loop in Clark County which starts in Battle Ground and goes northward past Battle Ground Lake State Park, a unique volcanic crater lake. Many local attractions lie along the route, of which the Heisson Store is just one. A link to the route is here.
