Hi all,

I am a newbie from San Diego…I posted on the new members site previously. I have a question that I could use any kind of advice on...

Could someone refer me to a wonderful and reputable salesperson whom you bought from who works in the greater SD/LA area? If you can't give a specific name...perhaps a dealership? I would prefer a woman if possible but a patient, respectful and ethical man is great too! Also…if there are any ladies in the market here in SD and you want to trade tips please email me...I would love to meet up. In terms of the salesperson…I am looking for a good listener who loves finding the perfect fit for the client. I have already visited Revolution RV in Santee and had a great time looking at Airstreams but I want to be sure that I find the right fit for me because they lack some amenities I'd like. If you are in sales here is my wish list so far:

Here are some of my essentials:

*80’s or more recent—gently used please
*Easy to clean (wood style vinyl floors would be ideal with minimal carpeting)
*Established manufacturer with proven track record
*Bathtub/Skylight in Bathroom
*Desk space (separate from kitchen table)
*Internet ready/Satellite
*Size that makes it easy to enter most National Parks, etc. I’ve heard that going over 30 feet makes it harder to find spaces?
* Pet friendly—my cat will be the judge of that but we humans have to chime in!
*Washer/Dryer

My primary use will be for full-time living/moving around the outlying areas of a metropolitan area or extended stays in a rural area in the SW of the US. If I got a travel trailer I would need to rent a towing vehicle because my regular car is a ’02 Toyota Corolla.

Thanks all for your thoughts and advice!
Jennifer

I bought my 30' Sightseer from La Mesa RV's Fred Bailey. He was very helpful, no pressure and showed me what I asked for, he did not try and "UP Grade" my needs.
La Mesa RV has done a good job maintaining my coach, When I take it in for an oil change they shampoo the carpet and basically detail the insides

I for one will use them again

We bought a new 30-foot Alpenlite 5th wheel a few years ago. We purchased it from Saddleback RV which is located at Traveland in Irvine. The salesman we were referred to and worked with was Tony McColl. We felt very good about our dealings with him. He was not at all high pressure and spent a good amount of time with us trying to find what we wanted. Good luck with your search.

There are some great dealers in Southern California. I have been in contact with most all of them at one time or another. Watch out for these, low/no down payment, low interest where you buy points, (you will be upside down in unit: Chuck discussed this a few newsletters back) all promises written on contract (some salesmen make more promises than they can deliver). Any unit less than 10 years old needs a PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) and the dealership will pay for any problems found. A fee of about $800 is usually included in the price for the PDI which includes checking all systems and appliances and roof, undercarriage, etc., and making minor repairs. Price is only part of the equation. Getting the unit that meets your needs at a good price is what you want. If my email address shows up, feel free to contact me. I always love to discuss RVing with Newbies and everyone else too.
