|
| I have found an RV which I would like to buy. Is there any negotiation room with factory direct companies? |

| You haven't provided enough information for someone with the same factory-direct product to comment on whether price negotiation is possible or not. But if you happen to be referring to a Lazy Daze, the answer is no, the prices are not negotiable! |

If there is more than one of those organizations, or at least multiple offices/sales points, you can send a bid request via e-mail or snail mail to each one. If you get different prices, that answers your question. If they are identical other than sales tax, that also is an answer.
Make your bid request as specific as possible with model and all options desired. Do not let the other location know who you are sending the request to, only that they are competing with other sources.
I used this process with 8 dealers in 5 states to select who we were buying from. It worked very well for us. _________________ Mike, Nancy and the Fuzzies

I'm still not clear on exactly what you're asking.
Are you asking about companies such as this or this?
Or are you talking about RVs that one can buy only from the factory such as Lazy Daze and New Horizons?
If it's the former, I imagine there is room for negotiation, although I've never had personal experience with this kind of company. If it's the latter, then the answer is a definite "NO." |

| Go online to Rvpricebusters.com. They have a great number of different types of RVs from Class A to 5th wheels. Steve is a great help in finding what you may add to your RV. You can pick it up or have it delivered to you. |

RV Direct is just another RV retail dealer and have absolutely nothing to offer beyond what other competing dealers have to offer; and for the most part they offer substantially less than a reputable dealers have to offer!
My impression of RV Direct:
1. Their advertising is aimed at potential suckers who still believe in the Tooth Fairy. They get their RVs directly from the factory? Yep . . . same as any other RV dealer.
2. Their stock is limited to the very lowest level of bottom-feeding level of crap currently being vended by the RV industry.
3. They don't have ANY service facilities! They leave you on your own to find a warranty-servicing dealer. Lottsa luck on that one! If you didn't buy from a local dealer, then indeed they might service your rig; but only after accommodating their own customers. So for an appointment for service, try January 13th, 2059.
One of the most important decisions in purchasing a new rig is selection of a dealer.
1. Does the dealer have the facilities to service your warranty claims? Or do they tell you to go find your own dealer 'cause they don't have any service facilities. Manufacturers don't fix stuff . . . dealers do!
Picking the right dealer can make all the difference between a pleasant RVing purchase and enduring a nightmare directly from Hell!
2. Does the dealer have an interest in looking after their customers and maintaining their customer-base when going to bat for a customer against a manufacturer?
Oops. You're not a customer! So who really cares! |
