Fabic on Awning Slipping Out of Roller |
|
|
The awning fabric on our Dometic awning is slipping out of the roller on one end. We would like to stop this before it totally comes out of the roller. Right now about two inches of fabric have slipped out.
Any suggestions? |

I would slide it back in and get a large enough hose clamp to go around the end, and put it there to keep the awning from coming out again. _________________ Lee and Fran

If I understand your problem correctly, I believe that the rod which is threaded through the awning fabric "hem" - all of which holds the fabric in the roller slot - has slipped in one direction. Take a look inside the slot that holds the fabric on both ends and see if this isn't the case.
I had the same problem, but couldn't mooch the rod back where it belongs by myself. So I inserted a bit of rod into the end where it was needed and that did the trick for me.

I just replaced the awning on my camper and found that there are metal screws driven through the cord that goes through the hem of the awning. One is on each end of the awning on top and on bottom, making four in all. Of course mine is a Faulkner and yours must differ. _________________ 2000 Chevy K2500 24.5' Hornet by Damon 5er |
