Water Heater Bypass Hose |

| I have a 6-gallon hot water heater. Will any hose fit it or do I need one for my particular model? |

I don't think that I understand your question. Is this water heater in the box and you want to install it into an RV?
If it is in your RV, what hose are you wanting to connect and why? It should already be connected to the cold water supply at the bottom inlet and to the hot water plumbing at the top outlet. There is a drain plug, but you don't connect a hose to that nor should you connect a hose to the pressure relief valve. _________________ Good travelin !................Kirk

| OK. My B camper van has a 6-gallon hot water heater. I want to put a bypass hose so I cannot fill the tank, since I really haven't used it since I got it, and so I can winterize it If I want without filling the tank. I understand these hoses have valves on them so I can just turn a few valves when I want to use it or not use it. My question is are all of these bypass hoses the same or are they different to fit one model hot water heater to another? |

In general the bypass hose is not a hose in the sense of a garden hose. It is part of the plumbing associated with the heater. If you have access to the rear of the tank, you will find a array of probably plastic pipes around the heater. In some of the lines you will find valves that can be used to bypass the tank. By the way, the "rear of the tank" is inside your RV, not at the outside access panel. It is often hard to reach. When you winterize, be sure the tank is drained after you shut the bypass valves, and you might want to flush it before you close the valves to insure it is stored as clean as possible. _________________ Ken

| Yes, the kits are the same size. The bypass hose is flexible so as to fit the 6 or 10 gallon heaters. |
