Taking Pet over Border to Vancouver? Help! |
|
|
Am thinking about going to Vancouver in my RV and my wee dog on Monday. Anyone know about what the requirements are for my dog (or RV) in crossing the border into Canada? _________________ Lucie Adams |

For your pet, you will need proof of rabies vaccination within the last 36 months (or within the last 12 months if the rabies certification doesn't have an expiration date). They may not ask for it (we've never been asked for information concerning our dog), but you should have it handy anyway.
As for you, I'm not sure where the passport issue stands for getting back into the U.S. (I don't think it is yet required), but at the very least, you will need a copy of your birth certificate plus a photo ID (i.e., driver's license). _________________ LindaH

Don't Forget Other Regulations |

| Remember a recent article about a minister who forgot to declare that he had a firearm in his rig when he went to Canada? Either get the required paperwork in advance, or leave your weapons at home before crossing the border. |

Dogs Over Border |
|
|
I was staying in the Bellingham/Seattle area for quite some time and crossed the border many times with the puppies. I did not want to take the coach because of the high gas prices.
Only one time I was asked to show rabies certificates. They were more concerned why I was going by myself and several times. They were more concerned whether I was going to deliver drugs or something, because I only went on day trips. They asked a lot of questions like why I was not staying longer, who did I meet and so on. They don't care too much about dogs, I guess. _________________ babyboomer on the run |

Just let there be 1 case of avian flu in Texas or rabies in Ft. McMurray and the whole thing would change.
