Highway 58: Domingos in Boron, California has fantastic Mexican food. It is on the main street of town. Lots of on-street parking. A very popular place to eat by personnel from Edwards Air Base. The mayor of Boron is the owner.

La Posta in "Old Mesilla", New Mexico. A couple of miles off I-10 in Las Cruces. Great food, atmosphere, and history. Excellent shopping around the square, also.

We've been to La Posta too. We agree - excellent food! In Mesilla, the square is a lot of fun. We were there in late summer and they had crafters set up. I think they do that weekends during the seasonal months. There were musicians also. There is a bar/restaurant? where you can sit at outside tables and watch the goings-on. The buildings are old and interesting.

Anywhere in the South SF area -
Taco trucks! Insanely good food from many of them; merely good food from the others. Cheap prices - $5 for cheese quesadilla and 2 tacos.

Araujo's, walking distance up San Bruno Ave from the casino in downtown San Bruno, is a great Mexican restaurant (ignore the tchotchky decor).

7 Seas in the Fruitvale (Oakland) district. Ojos de Aguas isn't bad either.

Mar e Mar on E. Santa Clara Ave. in San Jose.
The vegetarian restaurant just a bit nearer to town is spectacular. It's run by some scary cult. If you can get past that, the food's amazing.

La Rincon DelNorte in Indio, California is the best Mexican food I have ever had and believe me, I have eaten Mexican from Texas to Washington State. It's so good we drove up from LA once just for lunch.

Forgot all about it! Yikes!

If you're in San Francisco city, Pancho Villa Taqueria on 16th just east of
Valencia. The Camarones Al Mojo de Ajo is to die for.

In Acuna, Coahila, Mexico, just across the border from Del Rio, TX a couple of good restaurants are Manuel's and Crosby's. Reasonable prices, too. They speak English there, for those of us who do not speak Mexican and both accept dollars or pesos.

Far from Mexico, but La Presa Restaurant in Grand Coulee, Washington or Airway Heights, Washington (both owned by the same family) is really amazing food! The best I've found in Washington State!

We really like "Don Pablos." I think it's a chain. If they are all as good as the one in White Marsh, Maryland, then they are doing a great job! Low prices, lots of specials and deals, and really good authentic Mexican food. Great Margaritas too! Very Happy
John and Denise in Baltimore, MD.

I concur with Domingos in Boron; one in Tehachapi, CA also. As info, it is a tradition for the space shuttle astronauts to go immediately to Domingos after landing at Edwards AFB. Another good restaurant is El Tio Pepes in Victorville, CA, and also Rinconsito Del Mar in Victorville.

When in Tucson, I jump the border to Nogales, Old Mexico and head to La Roca for their Chicken Mole. It is the best I have ever tasted!

Mac's La Sierra, Albuquerque, NM, on Central Ave just south of the Flying J. Great food; great RV parking. It is a little hole in the wall we found when broke down. Several truckers recommended it.

Homemade pie and speciality of steak fingers. Enchiladas are the best. I ask which sauce is hot that day because I am a wimp and have never been disappointed. We had to drive back to CA once in a hurry and took a detour just for dinner.

Have even spent the night there. The owner even said we could dry camp for the balloon festival free.

Have fun and enjoy. Laughing
