I've been looking for more load capacity when I replace the ST225R15 D tires on my fiver; current tires only allow 120 lbs over GVW. Not that I plan to overload, just looking for a little margin.

I've found a Greenball Transmaster ST225R15 load range E would give me an additional 300 pounds of weight margin per tire.

Does anybody have experience, good or bad, with these tires? They are made in Taiwan and I don't remember ever hearing of them.

Thanks -

Never heard of a Greenball before. Is it made in Korea or China?

An 'E' rated tire would give you more tire capacity but not more axle or spring capacity. But I would go with the higher rating for safety.

Have fun but be safe................

Never heard of this brand.

Before going with the higher rated load range tires, make sure your rims will handle the extra air pressure...you may have to change them, too.

Greenball tires are manfactured by Goodyear in Canada and marketed by Greenball.

Keep in mind that a tire with higher capacity often has a higher air pressure rating to allow that higher weight capacity. Make sure the wheel you are mounting it on is rated for the max pressure of the tire or you are limited to the wheel max pressure and that will mean less weight capacity from the tire.

Can someone explain about the rims? I have molded wheels and they are stamped on the backside (65 psi). I have mounted tires on them that max press is 80 psi. I have the tires inflated to 70 psi, and have made two trips to CA/CO and back from AL with no problems.

If your rims are stamped 65 psi, that's the maximum pressure they are rated for. You're asking for trouble by inflating your tires to 70 psi.

If it were me, I'd change out the rims for ones that were rated for at least 80 psi to match the maximum pressure of my tires.

I have good luck with Goodyear Marathon tires. They have two ratings listed: one is for 60 MPH and one for 70 MPH. They are D rated. I have one question. I got one RT 225 75 15 from a Goodyear dealer in Venus, Florida and was charged $185.00 balanced and installed on the spare carrier. This tire was made in USA. I purchased another tire from Wal-Mart in Lady Lake, Florida for $85.00 installed and balanced. This tire was made in Canada. I had to buy 2 more tires when I got back to Ohio. They cost $92.00 and were made in China. I have made 2 trips to Florida and back with no trouble. We have a 31-foot Sportsman 5th wheel towed by a Dodge 2500 diesel
