Never thought I would say something nice about KOA but just this past week we stayed at the KOA in Stockton/Lodi, CA and it was a very nice stay. Staff was friendly and quiet. Ex.one RVer knocked a bird out of the tree when he was raising his antenna, and a young man on the staff carefully climbed the tree and put the bird back in the nest. Nice to see that. I agree prices are to high in the store but the park itself was nice and had shade and rabbits. Lovely. $37.00 not bad.

We are newbies to RVing and we stayed at a KOA in Cherokee, NC for two nights. This was our first experiance and was shocked to find a gallon of milk selling for $5.15. David and Del

We find that KOA is way too expensive for our tastes. It appears that they are trying to cater to Mom, Dad and the 2 kids. Those are not the people, in general, who are staying in RV parks. Most of the residents we see, and we are fulltimers, are retired people who do not want a gameroom, hot tub, golf course, or even a swimming pool. They want a nice place to spend a night or two at a reasonable price, and that is definitely not KOA. WE stayed in a KOA in the Minneapolis area last year and the manager told us that the prices quoted in their directory were wrong and that we would have to pay $3 more per night than quoted. That coupled with the fact that the grass and weeds were at least a foot high in virtually all the park, made for a really distasteful stay. Their pricing is also very disgusting in that there is an extra charge for virtually any hookup beyond water and electric, eg. cable, sewer, internet, and now WiFi. Get Real KOA

Way to expensive. Have been staying at Circus Circus Las Vegas for the past 3 years.Went again last Sept to find out that KOA had taken over the RV Park at Circus Circus and the rates had tripled to over $45.00 a night. As my friend stated the only difference between the KOA at Circus Circus and Wal-Mart is that Circus Circus has Elec Plugs. Will never stay at Circus Circus again as long as KOA is there and will not be attending the Circus Circus casino as we used to spend at least one week there every Sept.We sent a letter to the Mgmt of Circus Circus Casino to complain and advise we would not longer use their facilities, you think they would get it when you can almost rent a room in the casino for what you pay at the RV Park.

We prefer looking for something that is more affordable when traveling on a limited income. Many times there is not a KOA around when we are ready to call it a day when traveling. We like to look for those city parks that offer camping at a much more affordable rate.

We much prefer State Park or National Park campgrounds. Koa in particular are very expensive. This was not the case 18 years ago when we first started camping. Yet even then (jeep and hard-sided trailer) we preferred the public campgrounds ... Yellowstone, the Tetons, Shenandoah.

There are too many reasonably priced camp grounds. C.O.E. parks are usually on a beautiful lake and there a couple of companies that have directories of participating discount campgrounds. Just WAY too many cheaper places.

A KOA campground went out of business near my home in Arkansas. I am certain it was because of the high rates they charged. I ALWAYS look for a Good Sam affiliated RV park for a usually nice stay, and a good price.
