Yes, it is a good idea to have a gun in the RV. I suggest a shotgun -

Poachers carry weapons and you will never know when you will run into one, go to the range and practice like you got a purpose. There are bad people eveywhere.

There is a fantastic web site that tells massive amounts of information about legally carrying guns. The web site is www.packing.org They tell "right to carry" laws for all fifty states, various US possession territories, Canadian provinces< Mexico. The web site is updated vary often. Many NRA gun training instructors refer people to this web site. Pass this information on to other people. Paul F. NRA Life Member

I have learned it is better to have a firearm and not need it than to need it and not have it.In this day and age you never know who your dealing with and the response time of law enforcemant is not always what it should be.To arm to protect ones family and self is a good thing.I dont think I hold the same for property.Things can be replaced freinds and famliy cant.

Besides a firearm - we carry a Tazor gun in case one of our 4 dogs gets attacked by a big "bad" dog. Naturally we do not walk the dogs with a firearm - just the Tazer.....
