Diesel fuel may cost more but you get better mileage and more power with a diesel engine..as fulltimers that is important to us.

I used to work on diesels in my younger days. I also had to travel extensively in diesel powered vehicles for the 20 years I worked for the government. I would never own one. Hate the smell and everything that goes along woth it. We own a gas rig that has a modified V-8 engine that will out pull a diesel rig of comparable size on the hills. We also tow a Jeep Wrangler, one of the few vehicles that one can put the transfer case in neutral and not accumulate tow miles. Enough said!!!

An RV salesman once told me if I ever owned a Diesel Class A Motorhome, I would never have another Gas Class A Motorhome. I switched nine years ago and would not go back to gas.

I have considered both gas and diesel and decided that with the number of miles I travel in a year the higher price diesel lost out to gas. I have a 1988 Coachman with a 460 Ford engine that runs on gas or propane. Parts are cheap and more garages can work on it.

We just bought our first fifth wheel and truck, chose diesel 1 ton duelly due to weight of RV. Drive Prius separately as lead car.

Diesel for the MH and gas for the toad.

Gas for a Class A, but diesel if I was going to tow a 5er or TT.

we have decided on a gas motorhome, mainly due to our fixed incomes. With a gas MH we feel we can do much of the maintenance work ourselves (we would never attempt it with a DP)
