I hate to admit I have been wrong in that I estimated only 10% of RVers have weighed their rigs. However, I still might be correct if we ask the question how many have weighed their rigs CORRECTLY, ie. one wheel/wheel set at a time?

New Hampshire also keeps their scales on. They look like they are off but when drive onto them they turn on. So before we go south for the winter I check the weight.

I find it interesting that none of the non-weighers posted their reasoning. Some rigs can be overloaded easily without you realizing it. We are full time and see many rigs out on the road that we feel are most likely underpowered for what they are towing. Our entire life is following behind us and we want to be as safe as possible, both for us and those around us.

Oregon is the one state that keeps its digital scales on, even when there is no weighmaster attending the scales. Every time we travel through Oregon we look for the opportunity to drive our motorhome over the scales and get a current weight - both axles and individual corners, if possible. What a great service they provide!!

I weigh mine every # months, cause moma likes to pick things up. For those of you who never weigh their rigs you are a FOOL.....

My North Star slide in camper was 600 lbs heavier than than the sticker listed. This caused problems as my planned net weight was cut by a third.

Have taken the RV to the scale 3 times. When we first got it to see the weight without our stuff in it. On our first long trip and then just this past year as we headed for Alaska. I find it very interesting that so many people have said "no." Are they not interested in the safety of their loved ones?

We just weighed our 5th wheel and truck last week. The trailer was fine but the truck with the trailer attached was overweight by 20 pounds. We unloaded about 300 pounds from the trailer to make sure we are within limits.

Yes we did weigh it. After that we unloaded about 300 pound of stuff we did not need! We are now within weight and NOT overweight. Wish everyone would do this. It will be good for your RV to stay within weights.

In preparing for our recent 81 day 12,806 mile ALASKA adventure, I knew we would be packing and loading a lot of extra stuff. And after doing so I got all the water and propane and fuel filled and took it to a local truck stop CAT SCALE. We came in at 1900 pounds under the GROSS VEHICLE WEIGHT and the front and rear GROSS AXLE WEIGHTS were within spec. For the $9.00 fee we knew we were not overloaded and not stressing our MH. Lets you sleep better at night also.
