Hijacked by "highway pirates" (tow truck) Said he had a "nearly new" engine out of another vehicle for only $1700. Took me weeks to get it running right; and now after a year and 1500 miles, rings are completely shot. Looking at a complete new rebuild.

My daughter and I lost the entire electrical harness on our truck -with smoke billowing and stuck in a traffic jam on the I95 in upstate New York, we luckliy managed to be towed to Weedsport where we landed a campsite for 12 days waiting for a new harness to come from Michigan..the people took us in as their neighbors and we became fast friends to this day! The finacial costs were astronomical but the friendships made were priceless...there is a silver lining to every cloud!

Transmission broke down at I-40 and Kelbaker road. Before we had a cell phone, we contacted a trucker on the CB and he called the CHP at his next stop. We waited nearly 3 hours for the CHP before he would call a tow. Got towed to Needles where they dropped our trailer and took the truck to a repair shop. Three days in the pool at the RV park then on the road again when THAT transmission blew on I-15 almost to Mesquite, NV. Then towed back to Las Vegas, dropped the trailer at the KOA on Boulder Highway. There a week while the repair people had to send the transmission back to All-Trans in Phoenix so they could verify it was their problem. It was. Wife got disgusted and came home with a friend, and went back to work. Got the trans replaced and then drove solo back across the desert and THAT transmission locked in second gear in 29-Palms, CA. All-Trans replaced that trans too, and when it screwed up, I trailered the truck to their shop in Phoenix, AZ, where they decided someone forgot to tighten some little plastic piece. When IT began shifting funny, I just gave up and had Mark and Sons Transmission in Yucca Valley, CA put in a Goodwrench transmission. Not a lick of trouble since.

Blew a head gasket in the middle of Missouri last year and spent 12 days in Lebanon, MO waiting for a new engine to be installed. Was lucky to find a good repair shop.

Blew a transmission in Pa on our tow vehicle. AAA towed the camper to a nearby Flying J. The people there were so kind to us. They are RV friendly and kept an eye on us til our truck came back. We were there 5 days.

Started throwing belts in Alabama, very nice people let us use their cell to call AAA about 3 times before we had to call our own wrecker, who worked for a shop 40 miles to nowhere in Mississippi, but they turned out to be very nice people, picked up a week later from Texas (now have Good Sams)
