Dec. 22, 2005 we retired. Dec. 23 we started our first 2 month trip. Oct. 2006 three months. Nov.2007 four months. This year hopefully 6 months. We and the 2 dogs just love every minute.

Never spent more than a week on vacation. This will change in about a year when we go full-time. Live like no one else, so later you can live like no one else. Retired at 51 sounds pretty good!

Had hoped to be traveling many months at a time but 5 years ago mother became ill and we had to put all on hold - she is still with us and we can not travel.

Next year we will finally be able to travel for longer than 2 weeks and we are really looking forward to it.

This will be our first year that we take a four to six week vacation. Because of high fuel prices, we will stay here in Mexico where diesel is 2.00 a gallon and unleaded is 2.30 a gallon. We had planned on a trip through Chihuahua, Arizona, New Mexico and on to Las Vegas but gas would be over 1200 dollars. Instead, we will do a four week tour of our state of Nuevo Leon boondocking all the way. www.livingboondockingmexico.blogspot.com

The only reason I have not been out in the past 6 month is medical, fighting cancer. That is Changing, I am leaving in 2 weeks for a month. I enjoyed the past 8 years where we spent at least 22 weeks a year on the road.

As we read this we are at the starting stage of another 2-3 month stint on the road. We do three of these a year and love every minute.

Would be nice...but kids, school, work...the longest we ever stayed in our RV was a month in San Diego while waiting for Navy housing. That was one time we were grateful to have an RV!

Five weeks is the longest that we have been gone. However, we may go longer than that this winter.
