Hi Chuck,
We keep our motorhome on our property in Moorpark, California, close to the Reagan Library, which was threatened with fire. Our power gets shut off during Red Flag and Santa Anna wind conditions.
This week in particular we had frequent shut-offs. We are very blessed that we can resort to our Class A motorhome to watch TV and cook. Sometimes the living conditions were tight when the winds reached 70 mph and we kept the slides in for fear of tearing canopies.
I have a feeling this will be the norm for California, so we will keep the motorhome close by (ready, set, go), filled with water and supplies. This picture is our dog Divot and hubby during a blackout while enjoying a little happy hour — a cheese stick and wine! Our outages lasted four days. We escaped evacuations a couple of times.
We are so fortunate to have a second home to resort to.
