No matter how hard you try, do you sometimes get a catchy tune stuck in your head? I do, and it can drive me a little bit crazy.
I made the mistake of telling Gail about a song that has gone through my head repeatedly for at least 20 years. It was a mistake to tell her because ever since she teases me by intentionally humming it in my presence, and there I go again. Grrrrrrrrrr!
When my daughter was very young, she played very catchy children’s songs over and over and over and sooner or later they would get stuck in my head. When she was just shy of three, she, my wife and I took a four-month RV road trip around the USA. We hooked up a 12-volt video player for Emily to pass the time. She had a couple of dozen tapes to play, among them one where a certain purple creature sang . . .
“I love you, you love me, we’re a happy family.”
Yes, it was Barney, the purple dinosaur. OMG! That song never left my head! It was terrible. I am now in danger of having it play over and over in my head, just having thought of it again.
What about you? Do songs get stuck in your head? Please leave a comment about the name(s) of the songs and your experiences. We’ll put them together in a story, which should be fun.
