Have fun and help CA State Parks on a volunteer workday

    If you do a lot of your RVing in California, you can have some fun and help out the state parks by signing up for a Park Champions workday near you, says the California State Parks Foundation. By helping with habitat rehabilitation, landscaping and park maintenance, you can help keep California’s state parks in tip-top shape. Some parks even offer free camping for registered volunteers.     UPCOMING WORKDAYS
    Half Moon Bay State Beach
    Saturday, July 21, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
    Join an ongoing habitat rehabilitation project at Francis Beach which will focus on removing invasive plants. All ages welcome (minors must be accompanied by a legal guardian).

    China Camp State Park
    Saturday, July 28, 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
    Repair a split-rail fence, trim branches and make improvements to the Village Trail. Volunteers 14 and older welcome (minors must be accompanied by a legal guardian). Limited free camping available for registered volunteers on Friday and Saturday nights. Email ccvolres@gmail.com to reserve your camp spot.

    Mount Diablo State Park
    Saturday, July 28, 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
    Support the maintenance team by removing wattles, devices that collect sediment and allow water to drain along the Mary Bowerman Trail. All ages welcome (minors must be accompanied by a legal guardian). Free camping for registered volunteers on Friday and Saturday nights.
