“This is our 1 1/2-year-old Jack Russel Terrier, Chase. Chase loves camping, especially chasing squirrels. He sits at a window in the RV on squirrel watch and when he sees a squirrel everybody knows. At home, he switches to chasing lizards. Chase is very affectionate with people, especially kids. When at the RV park everyone gets to know Chase and stops to tell him hi. Chase loves his vegetables like sweet potato and carrots. He can hear a cheese wrapper over a long distance.” — Timothy Detiveaux
Juju
“Juju is an 8-year-old Pomeranian/Chihuahua born 2/14/2012. Juju’s first mom took her after her divorce but then decided she no longer wanted her. She gave her back to the ex-husband, who after days decided she was too much to handle. Juju was not very friendly and constantly barked. The ex-husband decided before taking her to the pound he would list her on Craigslist for free. I called, we met her, and took her home. That was 2015. She looks like Gizmo, but don’t let the cute face fool you.” — Daphne
Kayka and Cassie
“Our two toy Aussies, Kayla, 1, and Cassie, 7. Totally bummed out on a rainy day. No Frisbee and no long walks. Makes us feel bad too.” — Ray and Betty Danet
Cat in a Sink
“We have 2 rescue cats… sisters. They travel in our Airstream… This one likes to watch anyone using the toilet. Just weird having someone watch you!” — Lawrence Northway, Wellington, Ontario, Canada
Shipley
“This is Shipley. Named after the local donut shops in Houston! Part Border Collie, part Shar Pei. Sweet girl rescued about 3 years ago. Looks of a Border Collie with the brains of a Shar Pei. We love her anyway! Loves sleeping in our Micro Minnie.” — Peter Z
Aki
“Aki is now 13 years old and is still a character and mischievous. She sometimes ‘demands’ attention. When we sit at the kitchen table she will often ‘parade’ by holding one of my hats or socks. But, when visitors are over, she will only parade by with a piece of my wife’s underwear. It has happened so often we know that she understands the difference, and my wife swears that Aki must have created some secret stash as she never fails to find something ’embarrassing.’ Lucky for us, the vet just said she is in exceptional health for her age.” — Joseph Weinstein
Maggie
“We were visiting White Sands National Monument on a bright sunny April day a couple of years ago and our traveling companion, Maggie, perked right up when we put sunglasses on her.” — Dale and Sandra Watkins
