How much of 2022 will you spend in your RV?

Readers of RVtravel.com are avid RVers — many, if not most, spend much of each year traveling with or living in their RVs. Many are full-timers. We asked this very same question four years ago. Let’s see how the results compare this time around. Do you think we’ll learn that as a group you plan to spend more time or less time in your RV next year?

As always, after you make your choice, the current tally of this poll will appear.

Full time now for five years. It has been fun and plans 6 months to a year out were no problem. Starting to get challenging in getting reservations 6 to 9 months out in advance at popular destinations. Having to readjust our long term plans. Sad, but trying to make the best of it. 🙂 <- for young readers, old fashion smile emoji!!!!!

We plan on a seasonal campsite for next year and beyond. It’s a lot of work and preparation to get away for a few days at a time and getting extremely hard to find a site to book for a weekend. We have our name in a few RV parks, so time will tell.

Other than a two week trip once or twice a year, we just go away for three day jaunts not too far from home several times a year.

I am hoping to get a seasonal site in Maine starting next May. Still waiting on an answer from them and if it works out I will be there until September. I really want to travel next year.

I selected a ‘Month or Less’, but it’s more like 7 weeks when you include our four weeks of vacation and weekend trips (three days at a time).

Hope to fulfill my vote of four months or more. Next year will be our second year retired. This season we increased from an average of 45-50 nights to over 100.

Kicking the year off with a couple of weeks in Raleigh, NC before we come home to re-trench and prepare for out first major cross country jaunt that as it stands now in planning for a minimum of two months.

Of course, God willing for health and family, and also the Big Guy’s guidance over our RV and equipment.

I choose 4 months, but truthfully I really don’t know. It depends on the on going covid issue, finances, health, and whatever else comes up. If I learned anything over the last two years it is not to plan too far ahead. Yes, I have some plans but who knows what the future has planned for us.

Been 24/7 from state park to state park usually camp hosting. Hubby recently passed away. Am going to try to keep our schedule. Will depend on how much I can do myself.

We typically travel 2-3 months every year. This last year and a half we have pretty much hunkered down (for a number of reasons) but hope to get back to our usual schedule (fingers crossed).

We are now at 7 months away from our homebase in the RV. With 600,000 additional newbies each year, I plan out 8-14 months in advance. We typically stay one week to one month at each destination and 2 nights every 250-350 miles along our route.

As usual, I can’t see or respond to the poll

I’m surprised! I was able to both see the poll and add my 2 cents worth.

2021 was a bust for us, only got out 3 times for a total of 3 weeks, and just had to cancel a trip to Wyoming for a week that was to start on the 13th. I Plan on making up for that in 2022, including a trip to Michigan to see my new granddaughter.

Have reservations for 6 weeks at 3 different AZ state parks, 4 weeks at an AZ private park and will spend another 2 in NM. Then we’ll camp in home state parks (Michigan) a couple of times per month.

How much has this changed from this year and the previous years I wonder.

You bought it, now get out and use it. We average 2 weeks a month, ignoring Dec and Jan.

Take it south in Dec and Jan. We never stayed in the north those months. Even when we were very part timers those were the months we took off making a beeline for warmer weather.
