I had a friend who worked as a Mercedes mechanic, retired he collected scrap along with doing other things. He said the most desirable converters were Mercedes, they had the most Palladian.

I remember years ago catalytics were being stolen right out of our parking lot at work. Even with cameras focused on the vehicles. I can’t believe they are being stolen again. I know there is a metal inside these units that are considered priceless. Just glad mine is still there and I no longer work there. We were at Bryce Canyon 2 years ago July. Beautiful place. So is Zion.

We lived in Quartzsite for a year and a half, not much to see. Summer is hotter than heck and winter it does get in the 30s. The show is not much to see, no free samples. Traffic is bad when snowbirds arrive, they drive their 4tracks everywhere and don’t follow the rules of the road. Summer everything shuts down. You have 1 postal guy and he is not nice. Food is expensive and always 20 people in line at the dollar store. Only thing nice is the pit stop where you get water, dump and propane but they are set up backwards.

re: Longmont CO new RV laws….
Hate to say this but there are/where a lot of old beater RV’s parked forever on streets even before COVID – something had to be done.
I wish the $25 / week parking fee for visitors was in force where my son lives, I would pay it in a minute – instead of parking 8 miles away in a park..

Councilman Alan of Great Bend KS is a hero today, but just give it time, it won’t take long.
I’ve dealt with bullies like this my whole life and I’ve learned long ago that he is the champion today for some, but soon he’ll pick a subject or item that will affect his supporters or fellow council members and it will be hero to villain before the sun goes down. Grab the popcorn and enjoy the show, because after the dust settles is the time to interject common sense that benefit all.

It’s a shame that in America, people can be subjected to such random abuses of use of their own, hard earned, private property.

A little confused on the bit about L.A. County 10 day quarantine. One part sounds like everyone going to or returning to the county. But one part sounds like just those sick or showing symptoms. We might go to AZ soon and my mom, who lives in LA County, might come visit us there. But I imagine she might have issue with quarantining on return home.

I am sorry but I do not see the appeal of Quartzite. I watched may be half of the video. Honestly, it appears, to me , a case of the “Emperor has new clothes.” The flat desert is the bleakest, most dreary geography I can imagine. The camping areas reminds me of refugee camps without the goats. Granted I have never been there and after this video less chance I will. Honestly, I just do not get it.

You have to be an “Ol’ Desert Rat” (like myself) to really enjoy the Sun, warmth and hiking around “Q” in the Winter!
There are also lots to do in “Q”, like activities at the Quartzsite Improvement Association (QIA)
and the Senior Center, not to mention the Big ⛺ Tent and RV Show!!!

The Attraction of Quartzite is Free Camping and the Arizona sunshine High 60’s low 70’s all winter. Lots of stuff to do if you are sociable and like flea markets rock hounding.

I spent about 5 weeks in the area. I can agree with you as far as the more crowded areas. But, until you have camped out on the open range with the Milky Way above you, clear air about 65 degrees most afternoons, total silence (well maybe a few birds and coyotes), seeing 360 degree sunsets, a few saguaros in view, 20 acres between you and the next rig, agreeable neighbors, no landlord, don’t knock it. And there is a LOT of open range to camp on out west. Quartzsite is just the most sociable of the BLM locations.

My thoughts exactly! But of course, covid will get the blame for it. Here is a fact that no one seems to want to discuss: We live in Florida and mask wearing has been pretty much a “voluntary” thing. We choose not to wear them, as do many “other” Floridians. But when you compare our covid stats to States like California, which has some of the strictest mask mandates in the country, we are no worse off then they are when measured in cases per 100,000 people. So tell me…. do masks really work? I, for one, don’t believe they do. By the way, I am 70!

Thanks Ed, I am 82, now live in Wyoming and I don’t wear a mask. I also see a lot of people here not wearing a mask.

Millions of Californians ignore the mask mandates, since there’s no enforcement of the mandates. Our hospitals are packed with dying Covid-19 patients because of it. Masks DO work, and the research proves it. Believe what you want to, but you’re wrong.

Sue,
You can not prove to me that masks work. I gave you stats comparing Florida to California. You gave me an opinion. You would need to provide the proof to back up your statement. You won’t provide proof, because you have none.

People go to Florida for a week then head home. Where do you think the stats for the covid show up, in Florida, guess again.

Not exactly sure what your point is? If you are saying that people in Florida are giving it to people that visit there, you are 100% off base!
We have a place in Florida (our Home base) and a Vacation place in N.C. We are currently in NC for the entire Month of December and 2/3 of January. Most places here are not adhering to the covid nonsense and there is no huge outbreak of covid here either. If you want to live your life in fear of something that is no worse than the regular Flu, by all means do so. Just don’t think that everyone has to believe as you appear to believe!
HAPPY NEW YEAR TOM!

Now now, it is much worse than the common flu. People that get killed in a car accident don’t die from the flu, like they do from the Wuhan virus. 😅😅😅

Masks are not effective, research one country that didn’t fall for the scare tactics.

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-health-coronavirus-sweden-cases/sweden-says-no-need-for-face-masks-as-covid-19-deaths-top-7000-idUSKBN28D1TH

Covid-19 is a cold virus, yes it does attack the respiratory system, but it’s not the primary cause of a fatality, it is preventable and the CDC should be prosecuted for the lies they spread. Then there’s a doctor that everyone thinks is the greatest gift to health, why does anyone believe anything that has any connection to our government?

https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/world/us/top-us-health-advisor-dr-fauci-backed-controversial-wuhan-lab-for-risky-coronavirus-research-report/articleshow/75449844.cms

Hospitals are a for-profit-business, they get paid handsomely to report covid cases even when they aren’t really related.

No cloth or paper surgical mask will stop a 128Nm molecule. They will allow 95 to 100% through. Even N95 masks let approximately 30% of the Wuhan virus through. I worked with local government for over 25 years with blood borne, airborne and waterborne disease and pathogens. Simple looking at the science will tell you that.

Yes, the size of the SARS virus is anywhere between 60 – 140 nm. The N95 mask filters 95% effectively at 300 nm. It would “seem” like the mask would be ineffective against SARS. However, SARS is typically attached to other molecules, much larger than 300 nm. Here’s an interesting article on the subject: https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/factcheck/2020/06/11/fact-check-n-95-filters-not-too-large-stop-covid-19-particles/5343537002/

👍👍👍 we are on Pine Island in SW Florida and it’s pretty much the same. About the only people that make a fuss about mask wearing are the old folks that had blue signs in there front yard a couple of months ago. And I’m in the 60 year old age group.

Article in The Buffalo News about wealthy Canadians paying a helicopter company to fly them to Buffalo, where a trucking company has delivered their vehicles. They then drive to Florida to have a vacation!
WOW! Now that is some desire to travel!!

You don’t really have to be WEALTHY to do that – costs $1200 to fly a couple plus $700 to freight the vehicle, so $1900 – not bad really & that’s Cdn $s so about $1400 US $s.

It’s pathetic, the government of Canada tells the citizens to stay home because of covid-19 and yet apparently the prime minister flew on Canada one to a holiday in Barbados, several provincial cabinet ministers have taken holidays in Hawaii and Palm springs. I guess it’s a case of do as I say not as I do

It wasn’t the prime minister. It was the finance minister for the province of Ontario. He is no longer the minister of finance.

It was not the Prime Minister it was a provincial finance minister like a US state finance rep. and he flew on Air Canada not on the Federal Prime Ministers A/C and he resigned and said he was very stupid. And the one provincial minister from Alberta also flew on Air Canada to Hawaii she has not resigned!
