By Mike Sokol
Hello,
As many of you know by now, I’m not supported by the RV industry in any way. And the majority of rallies and trade shows I’ve presented my RVelectricity seminars at over the last two years don’t even have a speaker’s fee for me and won’t reimburse me for travel.
But I want to continue to train and advocate for RV owners, as well as help RV manufacturers build better and safer products. So I need your help in the way of donations. Any little bit helps since I have zero budget right now other than the modest financial support I receive from RVtravel.com (made possible by its members), so whatever you can pledge will be a step in the right direction.
All I can promise you is that I’ll do my best to help keep you safe around electricity, continue to work with the NFPA/NEC about reasonable code changes, and develop new products such as my generator Neutral/Ground bonding plug, which by the way I’ve received zero dollars for so far. As I tell my kids, I’m not complaining, I’m just explaining.
But no matter what, please continue to read my articles at RVtravel.com (and soon at RVelectricity.com), join my newsletter and Facebook RV Electricity group if you like, and spread the word about electrical safety both in your home and on the road with your RV. Thanks for your kind words and support.
Please click on the I LIKE MIKE button below to donate any amount you like with most any credit/debit card you have available. You can make a one-time donation or set up a monthly plan if you wish. We don’t receive any of your contact information other than your name and email address, so your information is safe. Thanks for supporting my No~Shock~Zone/RVelectricity articles, videos, blogs and seminars.

Great Thanksgiving story. When I was attending college I worked at a full service filling station. Our owner had the area contract with AAA and the Sheriff’s Department. These were 365 day a year contracts. We were closed on major holidays. To fulfill his contractual obligation we took turns taking the wrecker “Home for the Holidays”. It was always an interesting sight to see the wrecker parked at my grandparents home on Christmas Day or Thanksgiving. Great memories.
One question for your comment. We currently have a 30a hard wired EMS in our trailer. As an added protection against power surges, and to protect the MOV’s in our hard wired unit, we are considering a portable surge protection device at the power pedestal. We are looking at either the PSK-30 or the SSP-30X(L) units. They do provide a check of the state of the incoming power before plugging in the main power cord to the trailer. Are we being paranoid or is this a worthwhile consideration? Thanks for your thoughts.
I have not used online webinars recently so I don’t have a preferred format. I can probably adapt to which ever you choose.
I clicked on button to donate but get no response. Guess you have enough donations 😄
I just tried it and it’s working. Perhaps your spam blocker is kicking it out?
Thank You so much for keeping us RVers educated & safe!
Donation successful 😕 )
That was supposed to be a smiley 😊 face!
I tried clicking on the I like Mike button but it would not work for me.
Thank you for wanting to support my training efforts. One of the things I’ve noticed is that since RVtravel is a secured site, anything related to money must use the https: URL prefix rather than the http: URL prefix. So if you somehow bypassed the URL header or typed it in manually, that could be whats’s creating the problem. Try this secure link and see if it works for you. And again, a big THANK YOU for your support: https://www.rvtravel.com/support-mike
You offer valuable information to the RV community and I am happy to set up a recurring monthly contribution to allow you to continue. If everyone were to do the same small donation it would make a difference. Best of luck.
I was able to complete the transaction today.
