Jayco will notify owners, and dealers will install a range hood vent out the sidewall of the trailer, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin November 20, 2019. Owners may contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-283-8267. Jayco’s number for this recall is 9901438.

We have a 2017 coachmen mirada, propane stove/oven and and microwave hood vent does not vent outside. Should it? And if so what course of action should I take.
“If propane gas continues to flow and is not properly vented, there is an increased risk of a fire and injury. Jayco will notify owners, and dealers will install a range hood vent out the sidewall of the trailer…”
Propane is heavier than air and if leaking, would flow to the lowest level, probably the floor or the bottom of the stove interior compartment. So how does a “range hood vent out the sidewall” (presumably mounted above the range, deal with this? Very, very confusing as written. And to repeat, all propane users should realize that propane is HEAVIER than air and will flow to the lowest levels.
You are correct. It’s the combustion when the stove is lit that creates a Carbon Monoxide problem. Having a hood/fan venting outside helps to mitigate the CO. The hood won’t do a lot of good to ex-ventilate the propane gas if it’s left on, but there should be an alarm installed for that.
“The gas range does not vent outside.”
How does this happen? Who approved this or let it go out the door?
you had to ask. Remember most of the workers only have an 8th grade education
