Wouldn’t it be nice if your campground reservations showed up on your map? That’s what Google thought anyway. So now, when you have reservation information in your email, or on your calendar, that information will show up on your Google Map! If your reservation information comes to you in a detailed email, Google Maps will pick right up on that and add it to your map.
In my case, I made a reservation at a campground and received an email receipt. The problem was that all the detail was contained in an attached .pdf document. So the system did not pick up on the dates or the location.
Once I read the attachment, I copied the pertinent information and pasted it into a calendar entry. Then it showed up automatically on my map.
Here’s how the campground reservations show up on your map:

Wait, article was on “viewing campground reservation on your map”. How did it get to politics, government, spying and data breach? Try it-useful, cool, not-cool, simple. Not, the sky is falling, haha! You all have a nice day and stay safe.
Does not work with mine. All settings are set to on and I have tried on my phone and desktop. The mail and maps do not appear to communicate.
This article seems to be relevant only to those using Google mail. A point not mentioned in the article.
Google Mail OR Google Calendar – yes.
I value my personal information and don’t want anyone snooping. Our worthless politicians need to stop companies like Google, Yahoo, Facebook from prying into our personal information and lives.
“Personal”??? That went out the window with the bathwater. When you click “OK” to the Terms and Conditions, that’s it… no different posting here, you have to accept their terms. Have you read them?
I agree completely that governments have a duty to regulate information companies. Just like they regulate food companies to prevent poisoning us.
It looks like to me that the news media is regulating the government.
Or the other way around.
Yeah if Google could just stop sticking its nose into every corner of our lives, that’d be great. What’s next, monitoring toilet use for automatic tp ordering?
Re-order notifications for items that are running low is already here – but that’s Amazon Alexa. You can run but you can’t hide!
Really great and convenient idea, right? What this means is that Google is reading your email in great detail. What else are they reading and doing with your info?
I agree, Chic. This stuff is actually scary.
You can turn it off by going to account.google.com, Data and Personalization, and turn off Web and App activity.
Already turned it off,but if you use google maps it still follows you. Last thing I want is a Silicone Valley criminal having that control. Ever read the book by George Orwell called 1984? If you have this would scare the crap out of you.
Yeah, turn it “off”….. right. :-/
