What we learned about you last week (September 9-13)

Hey, strangers! It’s been a couple of weeks and I missed you! Last Friday around this same time I was frantically trying to get on our website and write this thing, but some technical errors got in the way and kept us from publishing last weekend’s newsletter. Bummer, huh? For us too. I guess it’s reassuring for you to hear that we hate not working. It means we really love what we do, right? Well, anyway, since we didn’t publish our newsletter last Saturday, that means I only learned four things about you from our Monday through Thursday Daily Tips newsletter. But next week (and going forward) we’re adding a Friday edition to that lineup, so I’ll learn even more about you!

Monday’s poll question was pretty interesting. We asked: Do you have a 30- or 50-amp RV hookup at your sticks-and-bricks home? It was nearly a tie with 45 percent of you answering that yes, you do; however, 42 percent of you do not. The other 14 percent of you are full-timers, so you don’t have a sticks-and-bricks home.

Tuesday’s question was so sofishticated. We wanted to know if, when buying fish, you care if it’s wild-caught or farm-raised. You do care! More than half of you, 55 percent, say you prefer that your fish is wild-caught, while only a tiny 3 percent of you prefer farm-raised. A good portion of you though, 36 percent, don’t care either way – you buy based on the price. The other 6 percent of you left comments saying things like, “I don’t eat fish!” “I catch my own fish!” Or, “I’m allergic to it!” Also, if you have any good fish puns, let minnow.

You probably don’t have an electric blanket on your RV bed. At least that’s what 79 percent of you told us on Wednesday. Only 8 percent of you always keep an electric blanket on your bed and 13 percent of you sometimes do. If you want one, here’s a good one for the RV (trust us, you want one).

Exactly half of you will winterize your RV this winter, but 37 percent of you will not. A tiny 5 percent of you will probably winterize but another 7 percent said you’re unlikely to. Many of your comments on Thursday said you’re not winterizing because you’re in a place that doesn’t require you to. Reader Chuck Dunn’s comment made me laugh. He wrote, “I winterize this way: Close all the windows, fill up the gas tank, start the engine, turn south and drive 1200 miles to Mesa, AZ. Stay warm!!!!”
