What we learned about you last week (April 13-19)

By Emily Woodbury

Welcome back, RVers, wannabe-RVers, newbie-RVers, non-RVers … Whatever you are, hello! How’s everyone doing this week? Managing to stay away from the April showers? Boy, we sure aren’t up here in the Pacific Northwest. It’s been a wet one, that’s for sure. Well, I hope you’re staying dry, and if not, I hope you’re inside spending some time with your feet up with a good book and some tea, or watching an exciting baseball game, or doing some indoor DIY projects on your RV. I always cherish this time of year, when we’re actually forced to stay inside and relax (something I have trouble doing). In a time when the TV is on, your phone is buzzing, and your email alerts are popping up on your computer, it’s important to just … stop. Rest. Listen. Be present.

Last Saturday we wanted to know if you hope to sell your RV in 2019. Nope, no plans to sell, answered 74 percent of you. The 13 percent of you who are selling though are planning on buying a new RV after you sell, but 5 percent of you will sell and will not buy another RV. A small 8 percent of you will sell but probably won’t buy another RV for a while. If anyone is looking to buy an RV, check out the comments on this poll. Maybe someone is selling your future rig!

On Monday we had sleep on our mind, so we asked: Do you normally go to sleep naturally or use a sleep aid? Most of you, 85 percent, go to sleep naturally, but 10 percent of you fall asleep using an over-the-counter sleep aid, and 5 percent of you use a prescription sleep aid. Next time a friend or partner asks to borrow some of your sleeping pills say, “Sure! Knock yourself out.”

I once took my friend, who is a judge, to the dentist to get a tooth pulled. Right before the dentist numbed him my friend asked him, “Do you swear to pull the tooth, the whole tooth and nothing but the tooth?” According to Tuesday’s poll, 45 percent of you do not have any dental insurance. Exactly 30 percent of you do have insurance, which covers most everything, and 26 percent of you have a limited dental plan, which only covers up to a certain amount. Boy, never did I ever think we’d have so many comments about dental insurance on our website.

What’s your favorite way to eat eggs? That’s what we asked you on Wednesday. Not exactly RV-related, we know, but hey, us RVers have to eat too! I won’t go through all the numbers here, but I’ll give you the order in which your favorites appear: 1.) Fried 2.) Scrambled 3.) Omelette 4.) Poached 5.) Hard-Boiled 6.) Soft-Boiled 7.) Quiche. Only 3 percent of you don’t like, or can’t eat, eggs.

Lastly, on Thursday we wanted to know if your RV is under warranty, and 66 percent of you answered that yours is not. Just under a quarter of you, 20 percent, answered that the factory warranty has expired but it’s still under the extended warranty, and 14 percent of you still have your RV under factory warranty. Just an FYI, we highly recommend our friends at Wholesale Warranties. They’re a great company, and they’ll save you tons of moolah. Check ’em out.

Okidokie, gotta jet! See you all back here again next weekend. Oh, also, what’s one interesting thing you learned this week? Think about it and leave a comment, or tell your partner, or neighbor, or post it on Facebook. Knowledge is wealth, right?
