Happy August! If I had to pick (no pun intended) one new thing to encourage you to do this month, I’d tell you to go to a U-Pick farm and pick some fruit! Blueberries and raspberries are in season here in the Pacific Northwest right now, and I’m headed up to my favorite farm this weekend.
Each year I gather up a group of friends, a few tin pails, an empty stomach and some old clothes (mind the stains!), and head off to a farm. Here’s a great website to help you find a nearby farm, and here are some delicious blueberry and raspberry recipes. Give it a go! It gets you outdoors, gets some fruit in your belly, and you’ll be thankful in the winter when you still have fresh berries in the freezer.
OK. Let’s see what we learned last Saturday. Ah, right. We learned that there’s a good chance you’re reading this on your computer (46 percent of you are, at least), but you also might be reading it on a tablet (that’s 29 percent of you). Exactly one-quarter of you are reading this on your phone.

Monday’s poll (click here. Do it. [Editor: Yes, do it! You won’t be sorry.]) taught us that 59 percent of you ladies probably don’t color your hair. That being said though, 41 percent of you do color your hair.
Yikes, I’m scared to see the results of Tuesday’s poll. Are you a dog or a cat person? OK, whew, I can breathe again. It looks like 54 percent of you are just like the RV Travel staff, you’re a dog person! Only 10 percent of you are cat people, and 19 percent of you like both equally. I am hardcore judging the 17 percent of you who don’t like either…
We’re impressed with the 61 percent of you who say you bring three pairs of shoes or less with you on your RV travels. A good chunk of you though, 25 percent, bring between four and eight pairs of shoes with you, and only 3 percent of you have a slight shoe “problem” and bring nine to fifteen. A tiny 1 percent of you (which was 28 votes) bring 15 or more shoes with you. Where do they fit? Oh, that’s all according to Wednesday’s poll, by the way.
We don’t have too many dancers here, huh? On Thursday, 53 percent of you told us that you don’t like to dance at all; however, 39 percent of you like to dance on occasion. Only 7 percent of you answered that you love to dance and that it’s one of your favorite things to do. I’m guessing those of you who love to dance are our square dancers from last week.
All right, folks. Take it easy and go pick some fruit! See you in a week.
