What we learned about you last week (June 15-21)

By Emily Woodbury

Happy summer, everyone! Doesn’t it feel like New Year’s Eve was yesterday? I can’t believe we’ve cycled through an entire 1.5 seasons since then! I’ve heard echoes of, “It finally feels like summer!” through my friends and family on social media and while catching up on the phone. It’s about darn time!

Anyways, I’ll keep this short since last week I went a little overboard, but I wish you time outdoors and lots of iced tea and cold beer (or rosé) at the beginning of this new season.

In last Saturday’s newsletter, our poll asked you: “Have you ever lived continuously a year or more in an RV?” It was nearly a tie. A little more than half of you, 54 percent, said no, you have not, but a whole 46 percent of you said yes, you have. I could quote a lot of the comments here, but there are too many good ones, and this would get very long very fast. Read through them and learn how long your fellow RVers have been full-timing (and why they’re doing it!).

Monday’s poll got nearly 3,000 votes – Wow! Y’all rock! We asked you how many TVs you have in your RV and only 5 percent of you don’t have a TV at all. A little more than a third of you, 34 percent, have one TV, 38 percent of you (the majority) have two, and 16 percent of you have three. A whole 7 percent of you (which comes out to almost 200 votes) have four TVs, and a small 1 percent of you have five or more. Serious question … What the heck do you do with all those TVs?

Tuesday’s poll taught us that 71 percent of you do not plan on selling your RV in the next year and 16 percent of you might, but probably won’t. Only 7 percent of you answered that you will definitely sell your RV within the next year, and 6 percent of you probably will.

You might have a lot of TVs, but it looks like your RV probably doesn’t have a built-in automatic ice maker. At least that’s what we’re assuming from Wednesday’s poll, where 71 percent of you told us your RV doesn’t have a built-in automatic ice maker. A large 29 percent of you do have one, though, so here’s where that ice tea comes in from above, right?

And, on a non-RV related note: For you U.S. citizens, do you have health insurance? (That was Thursday’s question.) Most of you, 84 percent, said yes, you do, and you have very extensive, comprehensive coverage, and 14 percent of you also said yes, you do, but you have a simple, basic plan. Only 2 percent of you do not have health insurance.

OK! How’d I do? Short and sweet? Good. See you back here in a week, after we’ve enjoyed this first full week of summer together. Cheers!

Comments

  1. I’ve got three televisions that came with the 5th wheel but we, when we do watch, only use the main one in the living room.
