What we learned about you last week (March 2-8)

By Emily Woodbury

Howdy! Hope everybody is doing well and had a swell week. Did you learn anything interesting this week? Well, if you didn’t, or can’t think of something, here’s a fun fact for ya: If you type “fun fact” into Google, Google will auto-generate a random fun fact for you, and then give you a link to learn more about it. Pretty neat, eh? There ya go, you learned something!

Last Saturday we wanted to know if you carry a spare tire for your RV and whew, you do! Only 31 percent of you do not carry a spare (but 69 percent of you do), and a teeny tiny 1 percent of you aren’t sure. If you want to know anything about spare tires or get some advice about carrying one, read the comments. Maybe you can even join in Denis.Ma’s open can of worms, which, in his comment, he claims that travel trailers and fifth wheels have more blowouts than motorhomes because they have a lower rating for speed. Thoughts?

Jumping right into Monday, we asked if you remembered how you first heard about RVtravel.com. The majority of you, 43 percent, heard about us through an online search, and 19 percent of you were sent our way through a friend or family member (we’re happy to hear this!). Quite a few of you, 17 percent, saw us on an online advertisement, and the rest of you probably read about Chuck somewhere, or saw us on Facebook or YouTube. A whole bunch of you commented that you’ve been reading RVtravel.com for so long you can’t even remember where you first heard about us. Did we ever tell you that you all are the best?! Well, you are.

Tuesday’s poll was hacked by our favorite hot-dog-loving electric guy (truly, he’s got lots of energy flowing through him at all times), Mike Sokol. Mike wanted to know how you like your hot dog or corn dog: with mustard, ketchup, both, neither or something else? Almost half of you voted that you like it with mustard only, but 27 percent of you say you like your dogs with both mustard and ketchup. We read about some pretty weird hot dog/corn dog toppings in your comments. Many of you like relish on your dogs, many of you like chili on your dogs, and there was even mention of cannamayo on your dogs (yup, cannabis mayonnaise; you heard it here first – or not).

Judging by all the sour comments, you weren’t very happy with Wednesday’s poll question asking how often you swear. Exactly half of you answered that you hardly ever swear, and 9 percent of you never swear at all. A good portion of you, 39 percent, said that you swear pretty often and 2 percent of you swear in almost every sentence! My favorite comment of the week was left by reader Mike in Texas who wrote, “If you’re not swearing while driving, you’re not paying enough attention to the road and other drivers.”

Lastly, on Thursday we were happy to hear that 91 percent of you do not have any serious food allergies. A few of you, 6 percent, have one food allergy, and 3 percent of you have more than one.

That’s all, folks! Thanks for your 12,416 votes this week (wooooowie!). Enjoy your week and we’ll see you back here next week one hour ahead (don’t forget to adjust your clocks on Sunday!).
