RV fire leaves travel trailer toast

An unoccupied travel trailer went up in flames Thursday morning in the Juniper Ridge area north of Bend, Oregon, but was quickly extinguished by Bend Fire & Rescue crews, an official said. But the crew was too late to save the rig, which resembled burnt toast as the last flames died.

The fire department and Deschutes County Sheriff’s Deputies responded around 8 a.m. to several reports of smoke coming from the area along the east side of Highway 97, north of Wiley Circle, Deputy Fire Marshal Cindy Kettering said.

Thank you, RV Travel. Sorry that someone has lost the vacation home. 🙁 Glad there was no loss of human or animal life. 🙂

No cause given but I will bet that it was the propane refrigerator. They have been responsible for many RV fires.

Or it could have been a way to get rid of an unwanted trailer. Which I understand is one reason why there is a 10 rule at some campgrounds.
