4 Asian-inspired recipes for when you’re tired of Thanksgiving leftovers

Pineapple Sweet and Sour Chicken

by Sunny Shaine from Palm Harbor, FL

Easy to make, this pineapple sweet and sour chicken uses simple ingredients and tastes delicious. Pineapple adds a burst of sweetness. The sauce adds tang and coats the tender and juicy chicken breast pieces. Onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms add color and crunch. Try adding other vegetables to suit your liking. Broccoli and snow peas would be good. This sweet and sour chicken is a winner. Click here for the recipe.

Yakitori Beef

by Nickole Smith-Palacios from New York, NY

Wow, the marinade for these beef kabobs is fantastic. It’s savory, tangy, tart, and slightly sweet all at once. The perfect balance of flavors. Marinating the sirloin steak makes the meat tender and juicy. We can’t wait to try this with other cuts of meat. A tasty addition to any grilling menu. Here’s the recipe.

Korean Chicken Wings

by Cynthia Sigler from Concord, NC

The sauce on these chicken wings is scrumptious. When coating the fried chicken wings it’s nice and sticky. With soy sauce, granulated sugar, and spices, it’s salty, sweet, and spicy. Coating the chicken pieces in a seasoned flour mixture and baking soda adds flavor to the chicken and creates a nice, crispy crust. We kept going back for another one until they were all gone… they’re that good. Click here for the recipe.

Yang Chow Fried Rice

by Connie “Kiyu” Guerrero from Saipan, MP

No more take-out fried rice after you try this recipe! Super easy to make at home, this fried rice is full of the flavors you’d expect and it’s super hearty. At first, we weren’t sure about ham being an ingredient. But we really liked the salty, savory flavor it adds. There’s a pop of sweetness from the peas and carrots. We used shrimp and loved that protein option. If you don’t care for shrimp, though, pork, chicken, or beef will work well in this recipe too. Click here for the recipe.
