A look at RV I-beam crack repairs and suspension upgrades

In this episode, join me and my crew as we uncover and repair I-beam cracks on a Forest River Shockwave travel trailer. While completing the necessary repairs, we also took the opportunity to enhance the trailer with suspension upgrades and an axle flip.

Section 1: Uncovering the I-beam cracks

Identifying the structural issue:

During a routine inspection, we identified significant I-beam cracks on a Forest River Shockwave travel trailer, a critical structural concern.

I-beam cracks can compromise the trailer’s stability and safety, making immediate repairs essential.

Section 2: Repair process

A step-by-step approach to fixing the cracks:

We conducted a detailed inspection to determine the extent of the cracks and identify any additional structural issues.

Repairing the cracks:

Using industry-standard techniques, we expertly repaired the I-beam cracks, ensuring the trailer’s frame was restored to its original strength.

Section 3: Suspension upgrades and axle flip

Enhancing the trailer’s performance:

While the trailer was in the shop, we upgraded its suspension system to improve ride quality and durability, providing a smoother towing experience.

An axle flip was performed to increase ground clearance, making the trailer more versatile for various terrains and enhancing its overall functionality.

Section 4: Ensuring quality and safety

Verifying the enhancements:

After completing the repairs and upgrades, we then conducted thorough final checks to ensure all work met our high standards of quality and safety.

You make it look easy. I guess with enough space and jack stands it’s not too bad. Which brings to question the cost involved?

Remedy for this problem…don’t buy cheap cracker box trailers. You get what you pay for.
