Important! Forest River issues two CRITICAL recalls for Prism motorhomes for carbon monoxide danger

If you’re a Prism owner, PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY. Forest River has issued two recalls for Prism motorhomes. We are including information on BOTH recalls here. Be sure to read through to the bottom of the story to see if your motorhome might be on the recall list. This is a critical recall, that could mean life or death for you and your loved ones. While they may look redundant, they cover different models and years.

FIRST RECALL

Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Coachmen Prism Class C motorhomes. The furnace may overheat and cause a crack in the burn chamber, which can allow carbon monoxide to enter the cabin. Carbon monoxide inside the passenger cabin increases the risk of injury or death.

The “certain” motorhomes included in THIS recall are these: 2023 PRISM PRC24CB, 2023 PRISM PRC24MB, 2024 PRISM PRC24CB, and 2024 PRISM PRC24MB. A total of 111 motorhomes are involved in THIS recall.

Remedy

Dealers will install the correct cold air return grill as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed March 6, 2024. Owners may contact Forest River Customer Service at 1-574-825-8602. Forest River’s number for this recall is 215-1733.

Remedy

Thank you, Russ and Tina! These are deadly serious. But why two recalls for the set of 2023 and 2024 RVs? Seems odd to bundle them as they or the federal gummint ( 😉 aka, government) did. In any case thank you for passing along this urgent information. Safe travels! 🙂
