Love’s expands Missouri network with additional RV hookup facilities

If you need an overnight stop and don’t want to spend a fortune, Love’s Travel Centers with RV hookups may be your ticket. One RVtravel.com reader puts it this way: “We’ve used [Love’s] for overnight stops. Full hookups, dog park, secure area, food, fuel. Works great for us.” The same reader summed it up: “Great overnight stop to rest, not a vacation spot.”

A new Missouri Love’s says, “If your travels take you to Missouri and you need an overnight stop to rest, ‘Come on down!'”

Third Missouri Love’s near national forests

Love’s Travel Stops is now serving customers at its third new location this year in Missouri, which opened last week in Fredericktown. The travel stop off Highway 67 at 1500 Highway 72 W, is roughly halfway between Poplar Bluff and the St. Louis metro.

RVers will find six RV hookup sites, situated far away from big truck parking. A dump-station is also on-site for those not overnighting.

Just a half-hour drive from Missouri’s highest point at Taum Sauk Mountain, Fredericktown is a strategic location for Love’s growing RV network with nearby national forests, rivers, and parks, including Elephant Rocks State Park.

In addition to the hookup sites and dump station, this Missouri Love’s travel stop includes additional RV parking spaces and private showers. Love’s continues to add RV hookups at new and existing travel stops.

Overnight stop—and discounted fuel

Food options at the Missouri Love’s Fredericktown travel stop include Love’s Fresh Kitchen, Godfather’s Pizza, and Love’s third Dunkin’ Donuts to open in recent months.

RVers may also be interested in some other features at the stop. Five diesel bays make for easy access when fueling motorhomes and for those towing. Love’s continues as part of the Open Roads discount fuel network. We’re particularly fond of that program, and find it typically offers the lowest fuel prices of nearby stations.

Russ and Tiña went from childhood tent camping to RVing in the 1980s when the ground got too hard. They've been tutored in the ways of RVing (and RV repair) by a series of rigs, from truck campers, to a fifth-wheel, and several travel trailers. In addition to writing scores of articles on RVing topics, they've also taught college classes for folks new to RVing. They authored the book, RV Boondocking Basics.

I wish they would place the bathrooms and showers within the rv park. Having to cross the parking lot and gas area doesnt work out for me

Let me start by saying that I really like the Love’s Travel Stops and have used them 3 times this year. While I disagree with inferring they are inexpensive, the convenience made the price worthwhile for us to use for a single night. The downsides:

  1. They were busy (noisy) with semis idling and coming & going all night from the nearby highway.
  2. They were lit up so much that we HAD to use the blackout shades.
  3. It’s a bit of a walk if you want to use the bathrooms/showers.

The upsides:

  1. Ease of access from the highway.
  2. Convenience for “food” and fuel.
  3. They tend to have multiple dog parks.

I hope they build more and we’ll continue to use them, but only for single-night stops.

Look at the picture , the angled back in sites compared to the entrance to the sites. Does not look easy to get headed the correct way.

Not one mention of how much for a night other than “less than a fortune”.

Thank you, Russ and Tina! Good to know. Here in the southeast TAs and Petros tend to have lower prices than Love’s do. Happy new year and safe travels! 🙂
