With 2021 coming to a fast close, it’s time we start thinking about our travels for 2022, which we’re assuming most of you have already.
As far as RVing goes, how much time in total do you think you’ll spend RVing in 2022? A couple of weeks? A few months? The whole year? Or perhaps you don’t know the answer just yet. And that’s okay!
Going to cut down to short trips this summer, maybe a couple of months, with a few 4 day trips here and there throughout the year vs in the past we were 365 for 7+ years then went to 6+ months per year for 4 years…but no more…
This year, around four months. Wife is full timing for a few months due to family issues and she has to help. We have a month of week long getaways planned, and a few weeks worth of weekends.
Since Covid “hit” in early 2020, I’ve been “isolating in place” in TN. I’m a senior solo Full Timer with diabetes and asthma so, I err on the side of being extra cautious. This morning’s NY Times acknowledges we’re now experiencing the FOURTH wave of Covid and, I have no doubt that we’re still nowhere near being “out of the woods”. I am “fully vaccinated” and have the latest Flu & pneumonia shots. I “mask up” the few times I have to go out to resupply. I understand that people want to get back to the “old normal” but, I doubt that will ever be possible. The Covid death count is rising with NO end in sight. Sad times indeed. 🙁
likely not much until the fall.
365! – Full time for 1.5 years and counting. No regrets.
Probably will sell our trailer in 2022.
I am thinking 4 months in Maine then a week in Florida for a WDW if I get a site. I have been procrastinating on rsvp a site and am realizing the longer I hold out the longer I won’t get a site for Halloween October. So probably 6 months. But may end up living out of the RV while trying to get land cleared in NC for our second home. Just do not want to be in MI for another winter.
Hopefully six months.
We rescued an abused female GSD back in February, dumped in the Mojave desert. She has put a damper on our 2021 camping because she is afraid of everything though much better she is deathly afraid of the leash and we haven’t overcome that yet. We did manage a trip in May and visited our new gson in Oregon in June thanks to my niece home sitting also 4 days in October. Hopefully our GSD fully adapts by May 2022, we have a trip planned to the Oregon coast for a week and heading to Michigan to see my new gdaughter that was born Dec 10. So, for 2022. My wife will accompany me to Michigan and fly back, I will stay there for about 2 months then she will fly back and we will take a different route back to California and see as many sites as we can during this trip. If we are lucky we will be able to start back up camping as much as possible.
I would not go thru Colorado but go as south as possible to avoid Colorado winters. From what I saw on the I 70 I would not do a RV on that highway after November to May. Michigan? Heck. Welcome to the bluest state you can imagine. Sounds like that travel plan is something we are thinking of doing next summer. Good luck.
GSD?
German Shepherd Dog? That’s all I can think of. Have a great day, Rich. 🙂 –Diane
Yes, that is correct.
Yay. Thanks, Lazy Q. Have a very Merry Christmas and a healthy and fantastic 2022! 🙂 –Diane
We lived in our class A Moho in a seasonal site from May 10 until September 30. Due to the current conditions we stayed put, sold our house and live in the Moho until we bought our condo and moved in October as it was getting pretty cold here in Manitoba! Moho is now in storage and hopefully we will be on the road when the snow melts and it warms up. Happy holidays and stay safe!
minimum of 10 days a month. With longer trip in March, FMCA in Tucson.
Probably as much as we did last year – we’ll be staying put more while seeing the sites and then settle again for the winter like we did this year. Still live full time in our RV so that hasn’t changed.
Sold our house in 2021 so really have no choice other than to proceed with our long-term plans to be full-timers in our Class A motorhome. If DEF runs out guess we will have to find a place to “set for awhile”.
