What type of alcoholic beverage do you drink the most?

OK, say it’s a Friday night bonfire at the campground… what are ya drinkin’? Are you cracking open a cold beer? Pouring yourself a nice glass of Merlot? Making yourself a margarita?

What we’re really asking you here is: What type of alcoholic beverage do you drink the most? What’s your go-to choice?

Hey, if we ever see you in a campground, perhaps we’ll come join you for a drink! That would be fun, wouldn’t it?

While your choice of options makes me sound like a lush, I used to be a bartender and know many different options are available. Sometimes its a good beer, sometimes some single malt, sometimes a b loody Mary or old fashioned, sometimes a wine or mead, sometimes a hard cider, and sometimes just a diet coke. Depends on my mood, and what’s available. DW is usually wine or unsweetened iced tea.

I was about to say something similar (minus the actual bartending experience.) For us it depends on the meal, the setting, the mood, the time of year, etc.

I agree. The only correct answer is everything even though that choice is poorly written and makes me sound like a lush.

A better answer is, choices from all groups (including non-alcoholic). I have wide tastes and it depends on my mood.

I like beer. It makes me a jolly good fellow…

Not much of a drinker but a good margarita on occasion or a Claw type drink.

Now and then a nice gin and tonic is nice. Other times I enjoy bourbon on the rocks. Football games, pizza and mexican food call for a beer.

I have taken to drinking Non-Alcoholic Beer. I like Heinekin 0.0, Clausthauler Dry Hopped.
They are the closest to real Beer taste I’ve found. While I still drink Beer or Wine occasionally, I find it makes me sleepy.

I never liked wine until DW and I got married 5 years ago she introduced me to a blackberry wine that tastes very good. Prior to that every wine including champagne tasted like vinegar sweetened with some sugar. To keep the record straight we may drink a glass of wine twice a month, a large bottle will last us 2-3 months. Lol

Truly hard seltzer.

99.9% of the time it’s Captain Morgan and Coke for me….. occasionally a beer.
As I have gotten older I have found my zest for a drink is not like it use to be.

Quit drinking in May 1978 in the McDonald’s Parking lot in Pascagoula Mississippi at about 17:00 as I was puking my guts out the window of the ship’s bus.

I voted for beer, but a six pack lasts six months or more. We like wine and mixed drinks, just drink very little, too much alcoholism in both families.

when i drink (maybe 3 times as year), a good whiskey – neat.

On the rare occasion I consume alcohol, it’s sweet mixed drinks like rum and coke, kahlua and milk, and moscow punch. I might also have a beer or two over a one year span.

When we used to go trailering with hubby’s parents, they always had us start looking for a place to camp at 2 (back then there were plenty of vacancies, remember those days?). Then we had ‘cocktail hour’ at 4:00 with drinks and ‘nibbles’, maybe a game of bridge or poker. MIL made a wonderful Manhattan; or we’d have bourbon and Coke Zero, or maybe just Coke Zero. Or beer, if it was really hot. They both came from the generation in which ‘cocktail hour’ was a thing. Today hubby and I have ‘cocktail hour’ before dinner, with or without booze. It’s a relaxing tradition.

Rarely drink…did enough in my younger days😂. When I do, I will have a vodka on the rocks with olives. At a nice dinner may have a glass of wine. I get terribly congested when drinking red wine, but have found a Pinot Noir doesn’t affect me as bad. My fall back is a Pinot Grigio. My husband on the other hand has a glass of wine most every night.

Beer or Rum & soda for me, as for my wife Peach Schnapps and Iced-tea but for both of us its extremely rare while camping. Typically if we do have a drink it’s at home on a holiday or around a back yard fire!

Not much of a drinker, a six pack of beer will last me several months. I don’t drink anything else except for the occasional beer.

My husband and I said many years ago that we would drink a glass of red wine a day because of health benefits. Well, we discovered we have a drinking problem, . . . we forget to drink. So I selected wine but I might have a glass one day and then not drink any more for a month or so. I do however use wine and beer in my cooking, does that count?

I’ve never touched any kind of alcoholic beverage, and neither has my husband, nor my children. I’ve never seen anything good come from drinking, but I’ve seen lots of bad come from it.

I’m an occasional craft beer drinker….typically when we go out for pizza or burgers. No IPA for me, but a Belgium White or Hefeweizen goes really good with both of those foods.

I had to think about my answer. My final answer is wine, which I thoroughly enjoy. Yet, I also enjoy a good dark beer.

I like a glass of wine in the evenings, it helps me sleep. Many years ago I had my doctor tell me that a glass of wine every evening was good for you. But then he added, “but stop at one”.

Marie

“Other” for me because it depends on the season. In cold weather, I drink more wine.
In the summer, it’s more beer. We’re seasonal and our friend is very good at being a bartender so I’ve had my fair share of fun drinks during camping season.

Way to go Richard!! I am right there with you! Last drug and drink was super bowl 1985! Now, I am only drinking water for the past 8 weeks! Soda was my indulgence but that, too, got out of hand!

I only drink NA, Non-alcoholic beer when I’m in the mood. Tastes just the same as any beer with alcohol but I don’t get any “ill” effects because it has less alcohol than a glass of orange juice! (I’m a recovering alcoholic, 31 years)

A few years ago, I was diagnosed as being diabetic. My doc said “no more alcohol”. Upon completing my physical, as he left the examination room he turned, shook his finger at me and sternly said, “remember, NO alcohol”! Prior to that, my alcohol consumption was VERY low so, totally abstaining was NO problem. These days, my beverage of choice is an Arnold Palmer made with UNsweetened iced tea.

Not really one category. Depends on the mood. One of my favorite mixed drinks is Beam and Cream (Jim Beam and Cream Soda)

I’m also diabetic on insulin, so no alcohol allowed. Maybe once a month or so, I will share a beer with my wife.

I have never drank alcoholic drinks and it is disgusting to me to have to communicate to someone who is under the influence.

I selected beer, but I limit that to an occasional Ultra organic. I quit drinking major brands (Bud) many years ago after reading it can contain up to 136 different chemical compounds, similar to chemicals added to cigarettes to make them more addictive.

I like a hard apple cider like Angry Orchard Crisp Apple in the warm weather. Come winter, it will probably be a glass of wine.

Good quality Ales!….No bud or any of that other…….junk…No ales available? Good clean water, and chocolate milk in the morning…
