It’s just one more way to be tracked. No information is safe on the internet. Every social media site gathers your information, some more than others.
Including this one…
I have instagram, twitter and facebook accounts. I look at facebook to make sure I didn’t miss someone’s birthday, and for family updates as we live a few hours from our families. Have not used instagram or twitter since I set them up.

Yes, but I rarely use it. That is, I have not posted anything to it in the last 18 months and have no plans to post anything to it again. I last visited Instagram 4 or 5 months ago.
No FB, NO instagram, NO Twitter. Happy life!

I have one, use it to post pics of our travels for friends and family. If we are not traveling, there is nothing to post. BTW, I have a twitter acct. WOW, deactivated it after 3 days.

Needs another category – ‘Yes, but I rarely use it’. When I’m on the road, I don’t need strangers to know I’m on the road. I’ll post them when I finally get home, but I don’t pay much attention to it.
While I don’t have FB, Instagram, or Twitter (are there others?) I can’t say I’m not on any form of social media because I am here! Those posting here and saying they aren’t on Social Media don’t understand the breadth of it.
Like most all things, Social Media is good and bad. Ukraine’s citizens are showing, in real time, the horrors and atrocities of Putin’s war to billions of the world’s citizens. No longer is it easy to hide truth from the world.
For some, it is also more easy to spread lies and hate.
Like everything else in life it comes down to the individual user and their motivation along with the ethics, or lack thereof, of the controllers of the platforms.
I have one only because family posts photos there. I hate it! The interface isn’t consistent from Mac to Windows to Cell Phones, to iPad. The 24 hour life of a photo is a pain. The low quality, small images that you can only save with a screenshot is a pain.
There’s nothing positive that I can say about it.
Needed…yes, but rarely use it. I never post. I “follow” 2 or 3 people on it. Only check if I see something mentioned elsewhere. Probably use 3 to 4 times a year.
Yes I use it a lot. I have almost 2600 followers and follow over 5000 accounts. Not for everyone , really depends on your interest.
No. That’s just something else to take away from the time I would be spending enjoying life. It seems like living today is going virtual.
I do not understand all the picture taking. Have been going thru my father and father-in-laws slide pictures. Have thrown away over 3,000 so far. Pictures of every tree in the Black Hills and pictures of every sea gull on Clearwater beach. Before I pitch more I had daughter and niece over last night and went thru hundreds. Between the two of them they only wanted to keep about 20. The rest will get pitched. Probably 1 or 2,000 more to go thru. Trying to clean things up so the kids don’t have to later.
Nope. No FB, NoTwitter, No tic toc, No Nextdoor. I text and email the few friends I have. I do not have any immediate family, sometimes that’s not all that bad.
I read what I want to read in the local paper.
I can’t fill my brain with clutter and worthless information.
I told my husband if I were still on FB I would be in prison with politics and Covid.

I value my privacy so, I REFUSE to “do” social media. NO Facebook / Instagram / TikTok / SnapChat etc, etc, etc, etc. I also avoid “texting” as much as possible. For God’s sake, you have a TELEPHONE in your hand, USE IT!

Wish I’d never gotten a Facebook account. I never use or respond to requests to use it.
